Weird question:

Can I download mods from bethesda site and then install with nmm?

When I first got fallout 4 I tried to install mods using bethesda but never again. Whenever they updated the game or a mod gave problems, I was completely screwed.. The game kept redownloading and applying incompatible mods downloaded from bethesda and the game kept freezing because of it and it rendered my fallout 4 unplayable for about a year!

Until I somehow managed to stop the game redownloading the mods and started using nmm from that point on

To this day, I am scared shitless by the concept of using bethesdas mod manager

My distrust of bethesda runs so deep that I refuse to Waste money on Any of Their DLC for any of Their games... Even if I could have gotten them for cheap at the latest steam sale

I decides not to get fallout 3 and settle for new vegas vanilla

Since fo3 wont run on win10 and There are no guarantees that TTW wouldve worked

Besides fo3 and fo4 looked similar enough that I decided I didnt need fo3

I do like the feel of nv though... And would love to get a sim settlements version for games like new vegas and skyrim

I play skyrim also with as many scifi mods as I could find

Both medievel and scifi themed buildings would be wonderful in skyrim

And let me tell you... Dual weilding 2 lightsabers or a chainsword and a plasma pistol or 2 plasma pistols in skyrim, feels awesome (While wearing space marine power armor and riding a starwars jetbike speeder)

Weird question 2 :

I regulary clean and reclean a shop in concord... The first cola shop at the corner

Atm it serves as a closed shop where settlers sleep..

But every once in a While clutter and debris seems to respawn

Im using a mod that makes all of concord and a lot of the land around it a part of red rocket

drop a conquest workbench and make that place your own.

some of the dlc offers some really cool content. far harbor comes to mind. Mechanist for automation. vault for vault stuff plus your own very huge vault settlement. etc. some of it is meh though.
 
I have yet to try the conquest mod,
But I have problems with assigning settlers and getting them to stay at a shop... This is not an issues when using sim settlements

My issues with settlers is because I have a lot of mods, settlements, settlers etc so the que is always filled and always very much behind/delayed


My area around concord, red rocket and sanctuary are one big city

All the other settlements are unlocked and very huge as well

My sanctuary is very different..
Scrapall command and scrap everything mod Will do that

I did make walls around concord afterwards and made a replacement bridge though, half of the bridge is in red rockets workshop area

I Will need to convert the last shops in concord to housing

I still have some boarded up buildings in concord that I Will try to remove but it's difficult because the risk of gfx error is high

I have a 12 story skyscraper in concord, it seems There is no upper limit in concord?

My red rocket itself is pretty vanilla atm

bad news... all buildings I removed using 'disable' respawned in concord, so I had to remove a lot of buildings that resided there... apparently fo4 won't let me mess with existing buildings... I did make some screenshots though... it is still WIP.. ESCPECIALLY since everything respawned in concord

did you use markfordelete after you used disable?

I just figured out from the pictures what you did. WOW.
I hope you find a way to make it work permanent :)

Uituit, I might have forgotten to use mark for delete. But the funny thing is that the respawned buildings now cant be targeted with either scrapall or disable. The road and other stuff in concord can still be scrapped so I think scrapall still works and the buildings opened up by a mod I use are still opened up, concord is also still a part of red rocket as per the mod I use for red rocket. The game is messing with me :)

I was thinking about looking for a mod that removes most buildings in concord so they all could be replaced with sim settlement buildings :)

The pictures are the current state of concord after I was forced to remove a lot of My own buildings (since the game respawned the original buildings at Their Locations) , My concord still has a lot of custom buildings though :) I will keep trying though. Perhaps I could load and old save and use mark for delete this time :)

The stuff I could scrap with scrapall seems to be still scrapped, exception for clutter and debris that have respawned

I guess at some point I would need to get the mod tools and use those to clear sanctuary and concord so they can be settled properly
 
I seen the pictures from Sanctuary looking over towards Concord and was blown away.
THAT is exactly the kind of thing I am wanting to do.

So if you ever get it figured out then PLEASE show and tells us how.

The red rocket mod expands red rocket build area so extremely that it is bordered only by the nearest settlements.

I then use the scrapall console command in sanctuary and with the scrapall mod active, everything but the workbench was gone in sanctuary... Then I build half of the bridge, went to red rocket and finished the bridge.

The red rocket mod allows sanctuary + red rocket + all settlements nearest red rocket to become one big city :)

I think the one you are thinking of is by retrobabe.
I had trouble getting my settlers to use the plots.
I doubt it will be fixed though dang it.
 
Sounds like cell reset got you. Unless the concord cell is marked for reset its going to keep doing that to you. Bug your concord settlement author with the issue,they may not have flagged the adjacent cells and your settlement expansion mod crosses most likely crosses the boundaries.
 
yeah it can suck when ur game messes with you:(
I had to start a new game myself
but that can be fun to :)
 
Hmm I might try all settlements expanded instead of some of the other mods I use and start a new game... This time with the goal of building as much as possible using mainly sim settlements plots
