Works as intended Wasteland Lounger Level 3 has grown an impassable wall around it...?

Came back to my settlement after a while of wandering the Commonwealth to a Supermutant attack, where my main pimped out settler didn't even turn up to the fight. After the fight ended, I decided to investigate and found this at her house ...

<I had a link to a screenshot but apparently I can't post a screenshot until the forums trust me>

Basically it has a concrete wall around the front porch, with a shotgun trap on top of the wall.

Now, I've looked up what this plot should look like at Level 3 and it doesn't have the wall and the shotgun trap thing, and it's not something that I can scrap in Workshop mode so I've no idea what's making this thing appear ... and yes, I've tried refreshing the plot several times :\
 
UPDATE: This is embarrassing... I used tcl to get in and out of the house and assigned the Settler to some new plants I had placed, since before I only placed enough plants to get up to 4 food from the one settler, after waiting a while for the assignment to be recognised, her home plot itself refreshed on its own again and the concrete wall disappeared.

So the problem is fixed, but I'm still unsure what caused the wall to be there to begin with, it clipped through the postbox, ASAM sensor and power pole and everything..
 
Hi! Did it look like this? If so, the settler is one of Kinggath's VIPs - "Private Property". This was a pun on Bethesda's AI that makes settlers teleport into places they can't normally reach.
 
Yep, looks exactly like that but it's called Wasteland Lounger. The wall came back shortly after I posted the update :\

Funny joke and all, but I'd like it if my Settlers actually could leave their home to defend when the settlement is under attack
 
I think they can, give them a minute and they'll teleport out as usual ;)

And the plot is called Wasteland Lounger, it's just the VIP that's called Private Property. All Kinggath's 20 VIPs live in a Wasteland Lounger. You can see them here.
 
Well as I said in the original post, she wasn't there during the whole fight :|

When I used tcl to go and check on the inside, she was actually in her bed asleep, IDK if she got back in bed once the fight ended or her failing to path out of her house made it so she didn't even react to the place being under attack ...

I also had to speak to her to finish the 'Defend this settlement' quest and get the reward etc. Which I wouldn't have been able to do if I hadn't thought to use a console command to get inside there ...

you can use the town metting gavel to pop all the settlers around you :)
 
Can I use anything to remove the dumb wall around my Settler's house? :P

I'd really rather not have to do something special just to get her to be able to leave her house every time there is a fight here
 
It’s a VIP plot, as far as I know she’s always going to build that house no matter what you do.

Also, and I could be wrong about this but it’s how things seem to work for me, as long as you don’t watch her do it she will teleport to whatever she needs to do just like other settlers. Sometimes teleporting will still happen if you’re looking, but if not as soon as you look away she will.
 
Well I dunno what happened, maybe the plot blueprint thingy was changed in the recent update but now the wall isn't there, phew! :D
 
UPDATE: On further inspection, the bed for that plot and other clutter items etc. are no longer there either..Now my settlement is one bed short and refreshing this plot doesn't fix it
 
Have you tried to change the plot to a different model? I admit I don't play the game much but I do override VIPs choices with other plots (our own) when testing, and it sticks.
 
Well, to change the building plan (I think that's what you mean) I'd have to just demolish the thing and start over from a completely unbuilt plot :\
 
Yes, but you seem to not enjoy this VIP plot, and I don't think Kinggath will change it, since it works as he intended. (Not the lost bed, but I assume that happens for you as a bug coming from the full refresh that automatically gets done with the 3.1.6a, or simply script lag - that should eventually sort itself).
 
I guess, it's just that I've sort of painstakingly made sure my settlements have the stuff they need and this one is already at a deficit on a few things, the extra bonuses the VIP provides has been helping a great deal it's just the building itself. The fact that I have to manually force a different plot and wait for it to get back up to level 3 just cause of a silly joke about Bethesda's AI kinda sucks. But anyway, that's just my 2 caps.
 
I can understand your frustration :) it's a happy feeling when the settlement gets balanced just right.
