I'm currently stuck at the "Ask about the blueprints in vault 81" part, and cannot seem to ask anyone about it. Am I doing something wrong? I completed the 81 story as well but nothing is happening.

EDIT: never mind, I wasn't talking to the right person

Who are you supposed to talk to? I did the vanilla quests related to 81 and went around and talked to everyone I could find and didn't get anything. I figured it was Kaitlin but she was just sitting in the bathroom next to the canteen and only replied with the defaults lines when I talked to her.

are you talking about cedric mansfield? if so, whenever i talk to him theres nothing quest related
yes he will talk with you right after the overseer does! Idk if he doesn't have anything then yours might have bugged out! Try reload the save to pre entering the vault

I'm having the same problem. I've talked to Cedric, but there's no option to ask him about the blueprints and he doesn't start or advance any quest. His dialogue directs you towards the main Vault 81 vanilla quest, but even after completing that he doesn't have any new options, he just says "everything is quiet". After reading the threads here I reloaded a save from before entering the vault and tried again, but he never starts a quest (And he never suggests doing anything other than visiting the clinic, which just starts the vanilla vault 81 quest. the other two dialogue options "What do you do here?" and "Anything to do around here?" don't seem to lead to anything) regardless of what dialogue options I choose with him.

Also having the same issue with Cedric - choosing the dialogue option about if there is anything interesting happening in the vault results in exiting dialogue and him saying something about stopping by the clinic instead of progressing the quest. The other dialogue options give responses that don't progress the quest either.

If Cedric isn't giving you the right dialogue to progress the quest, make sure you still have the Robco Schematics in your player inventory. After some hair pulling and searching around in FO4Edit, I figured out that was why I wasn't getting the dialogue.

I had apparently dumped the schematics into my main storage container with all my other magazines and notes and whatnot. It would be nice if the schematics were flagged as a quest item so they couldn't be removed from the player inventory until they were no longer needed for the quest.

Just tested that in game and the dialogue does indeed require the schematics to be in your inventory. Thanks!
Wish I knew this about 2 hrs ago I did every quest in the vault and now have Currie following me around when all I wanted was the ss2 quest done. Would be nice if the item was set to quest item so you can’t ditch it.

The schematics were my issue as well, thanks. I tend to dump extra notes and tapes in storage to keep my inventory clean, and must have dropped the schematics off as well while I was doing it. Making them a quest item that can't be dropped would probably be the simplest way to avoid the issue.

Thank you!!!

Any type of Oil will do. It's not some kind of special Questitem. Just get Oil from one of your Workshops if you have some in store. Otherwise go and collect some flip lighters or Mr. Handy Oil (etc.). Drop it in a Settlement and scrap it, than take the Oil from you Workshop and hand 10 of those to ol Rusty.
