Question Unoccupied Lots

Started a playthrough and got a problem with plots not initializing. I plop them down and they stay at the "Unoccupied Lot" state for a long time (I waited at least 20 minutes). No ASAM sensors are being built on them, no building plan is being selected, they are just empty. I can still manually assign settlers to them, but if I do that, they start infinitely building up the plot. I will get the message that the construction of a new farm/house/whatever has been completed, and the settlers will play their animations as if the plot would be completed, but I neither get bonuses, nor do the scaffolds go away. Assigning a settler to the unoccupied lots will generate an ASAM sensor that sometimes tells me that the selected building plan is not even correct for that type of plot (I got farm plans on martial plots for example).

I tried refreshing all local plots via the planner's desk and then my game crashed and my latest save was corrupted. The one before that still works.

Never had that kind of problem before, playing at least 6 or 7 characters.

It seems like it doesn't happen on industrial or indoor plots, I had all other types bug out tho. Happened in Sanctuary, Red Rocket, Abanathy Farm and Egret so far. Tenpines and Outpost Zimonja were working fine.

I installed SimSettlements via using the Vortex MM, I could try to manually download it and see if that helps.

Edit: I found out I can "fix" the broken plots by using the Immersion Breaker Breaker. Doing that will spawn the ASAM sensor and I can choose a plan. The random plan does not work however.

IBB is ok to use but sounds like you still have something wrong going on.

if you can try that manual install or wait till the next patch and see if that changes things for you/

I second this. I had some bizarre issues that went away when I redownloaded 3 in 1 and manually installed again. Definitely worth a try.

I manually reinstalled SimSettlements and was able to refresh all plots in the bugged settlements. It crashed a few times doing that but eventually it went through. I still get the occasional bugged plot, but nowhere near as frequent as it used to happen. Thanks guys.
