Question Unknown Mod Conflict Gitching out Level 2 Style Wagon

The title is my question.

I am troubleshooting a graphical bug I am having in my game and I am not even sure which mods or mod incompatibilities are the problem. The graphical problems are occuring over Sim Settlement assets or SS Plugin assets and seem to pulse/flicker with the weather. I have seen this occurring in both my Greygarden and Oberland settlements. The are both using the RotC simple city plans.

Can you describe these glitches or better yet show us a screenshot.

I didn't take a screenshot when they happened. I will try to reproduce. They are large, irregular, triangular geometric distortions that flicker in an out over areas of the settlement. They seem to pulse/flicker with the rain storm but I am not 100% certain the storm is the culprit.

Here is an example. It wasn't raining. The distortions flicker in and out as my character walks by. So not Truestorms? Should I post my mod list? It is loooong.

I never seen that before.
How is your performance? Frame rate and load times.

I have never measured the numbers so I cannot give them to you. I eyeball everything. My game runs perfectly smooth with no mods. Noticeable drops in framerate didn't occur until recently when I finally added in Scrapeverything. But even so it is perfectly playable for me.

I am very inexperienced at modding and everytime I add a new mod I get nervous. It wasn't until Sim Settlements that the mod list ballooned.

edit to add: I have a pretty good machine. The weekest part of my rig is the graphics card, an Asus Strix GTX 970.

There's a couple of things we can try until hopefully someone who has seen this before shows up.

Lower your graphics settings by one, ie; high - medium, etc

When you were installing scrap everything did you tick the box for the more scrapping (bUseCombinedObjects=0)

You should probably post your loadorder so we can see if anything stands out.

OK. Will try.

When you were installing scrap everything did you tick the box for the more scrapping (bUseCombinedObjects=0)

Because I could not remember I looked in the .ini file and there is no bUseCombinedObjects line at all which I think means I did not. I read that section of the installation notes on the Nexus page and did not fully understand it. I thought it was referring to scrapping things not in workshop areas so I decided I was not going to do that and did not need to risk a performance drop. But I wasn't 100% sure what that meant.

OK. I took screenshots of the load order and they are in my photobucket but I am having trouble linking them. There are nine screenshot named Loadorder1.png thru Loadorder9.png

edit to add: I think it is going to take me some time to write out 107 plugins. I wish I could figure out how to get Vortex to write the plugins to a file.

What Mod manager do you use?
If it's vortex go to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\fallout4\profiles
There will be a loadorder file that you can copy the contents of and paste here.
It is a similar filepath for any mod manger.

There's nothing that stands out in your loadorder to me.
How many settlers do you have in problematic settlements like Oberland?

Somewhere between 10-15.

This is the second game I have gotten CTD's in the Oberland area. I abandoned the last game because Oberland and the surrounding cells were dead (could not be entered.) I even tried the COC console command. After that I uninstalled all mods and followed Bethesda instructions for removing all mods from my game and re-installed Fallout 4. Then I re-installed that load order you see. This game is a new game starting from there. It looks like I have another dead game.

New information!

I discovered the precise problem that is causing the graphical glitch. It is Kinggath's level 2 Style Wagon. In both Oberland Station and Greygarden the spot that was glitching out was the level 2 version of that shop. I feel confident that there is nothing wrong with that shop itself or someone else would have noticed long before now. But I do believe there is something in my load order that it absolutely does not like.

I would welcome anyone take a look at my mods and make suggestions about which one might be causing level 2 Style Wagon to go nuts.

That's very difficult to do unless someone has had the same experience that you have.
Have you changed that plot to something else to see if the problem persists or not?

Yes. That is how I know it is that specific plot. Changed the plot to something else and the grapical distortions vanished before me. I changed the plots in both Oberland and Greygarden and all graphics glitches and CTD's are gone. I understand this is not a bug. It is a conflict with some other mod in my load order. The obvious workaround for me is to not use Style Wagon until I can figure out which mod it is conflicting with.

I don't know what to say, other than unless there's a few reports of this that we can compare load orders to see what mods are in common it's very difficult to solve.

I was hoping for something along the lines of, "I have used mods X, Y, and Z so I am pretty sure it is not those." I don't know what assets are in that plot. I would think one of them is being glitched out by another of my mods. For example, it is a clothing store. Maybe there is a clothing item that is being glitched out by the Mercenary pack? I don't know. I have never done this kind of programming so I don't know what makes sense for which mods I should try disabling first.
