First, I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, and will junk storage units placed outside the settlement boundaries still function as normal?
Second, I tested this by shooting and throwing grenades at them, but I'm curious about the experience of other people and/or an official answer - can junk storage units be damaged during an attack? Asking because my current design requires thousands of units of junk and if I can incorporate the storage units into the settlement's outer walls without risking constant repairs after every attack, it'll enable a bit of double-dipping, as it were.
