Triangle of Death building

Hey all,

Wondering if my logic holds up here. I know building up all three of the triangle settlements at the same time is bad juju, my own rig crashes frequently between RR and Abernathy (rarely if ever sanctuary for some reason) when I get them up to the 15-20 each range. I'm wondering if cutting the number of plots used by buliding regular beds in these settlements vs residential plots would help with the issue. Essentially run regular beds and SS A/C/I/Ai.

It's hard for me to not utilize these settlements, the other option I've come up with is to build them on an autopilot city plan, fire it up and never load them again in that play through.

Thoughts?

What's worked best for me is to keep two of them small (5-8 settlers) and specialized as support for the one I go large with.

But I am a chronic gamebreaker, so I'm actually more qualified to advise how *to* crash your rig, rather than how *not* to.

On my old rig, I wouldn't have worried so much. On the new laptop, I'm focusing on building for complete compatibility across even the lowest system without gimping the capability of the SS system. I'm trying to do a complete build series for every settlement to release as a pack, with a minimum of 15 per settlement, positive taxes, and enough industrial to have it level in it's own without player intervention.

Wow. That's ambitious!

I hope the more skilled folks here can help you with this issue, because that sounds great.

Flenser,

Yes, your logic holds up.

As you laid out is how I have been doing it.

I try to keep with the flow of the game.

Currently:

I build up Sanctuary with mostly plots, I try to limit to 20 settlers so up to 40 plots but many are internal. In my mind internal plots seem a little less resource intensive? ha, at least that is what I tell myself.

RR – 10 settlers max, regular beds, then plots for (COM) (IND) (ENT)

AB – 15 settlers + / - mostly regular beds and regular farm, then plots for the other

I have a good machine but with F4 that means little. Still with the above I do start lagging in spots a bit but it is still playable

One suggestion is not to build all of them up at the same time and just see how much your game, system and “settings” set up can handle.

oh, when possible I try to use the big vanilla nuclear generator for power. For water I often use static mods “don’t use power or use animation” for water supply. Same holds true here, things that don’t generate clutter, sound, animations might help.

Question, have you had any trouble with RR commercial? Reading the numbers breakdown it looks like I'd need 11x level 3 residential to upgrade them .

hahaha,

I think the setting you are asking about is under
- immersion
- Commercial Requirement

holotape maybe different, I use MCM

If you can’t find it, post and i’ll take a screenshot to tonight

Can that setting be toggled for an individual settlement, rather than universally?

It would be nice if being connected to a trade network would satisfy Commercial Requirements.

hahaha,

That is why i disable it. I play as if I am. Given the provisions system that makes up the deficit, why not assume it has been met?

Still, I can’t answer your question right now as I have never checked if a desk has any more specific functions. For me, I just want it off / disabled

So I've figured out how I want to build and release the triangle pack. One last question for the experienced members. Is it a big hit to build with the DLC pieces? I'm mainly doing these to practice for the contest, which doesn't use the DLC items, and while I can get close with the PBP build kits, some of the snapping on those is still being worked on and I'm not quite accomplished enough to work around it yet .

This is probably worthy of a forum poll.
