Question Too many corpses.

I am running
Workshop framework V 2.0.8a
Sim settlements 3-1 429b
Conqueror 429a

If I disable conqueror and start a new game with these console commands
setgs iHoursToClearCorpses 2
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadCount 1
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadComplexCount 1
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadComplexTotalActorCount 1
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadTotalActorCount 1

Bodies vanish in seconds.

with conqueror running these have no effect, even if I sleep somewhere far away for days.

Additional info, The roaches in vault 111 will still vanish with conqueror running.
I am not using prebuilts

No.

Load up a game with conqueror installed and you will see corpses are not despawning.

The mod is literally blocking Despawning rules.

SS2 does not have this problem but I would rather play conqueror.

just try vanilla fallout 4(No Changes No Mods) and enter these console commands to make corpses disappear in seconds.

setgs iHoursToClearCorpses 2
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadCount 1
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadComplexCount 1
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadComplexTotalActorCount 1
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadTotalActorCount 1

Corpses persist in conqueror, console commands or not.

Workshop framework V 2.0.8a
Sim settlements 3-1 429b
Conqueror 429a

With ONLY these 3 mods corpses will not despawn. NO other changes to the game, JUST these three mods.
If you DISABLE conqueror corpses will despawn as they should.

LOAD up a game of conqueror and test what I am saying.

Bumping. Have the same exact problem, corpses don't seem to disappear especially near settlements. Have to manually disable them for them to go away. Corpses disappear within interiors though

I'm having this problem, too. Real-time days into the game, and the bodies never disappeared from the very first settlement I took.

I'm thinking about installing Settlement Tidy Bot mid-game (tested this mod and it works great), I'm sick of seeing so many bodies piled up at my settlements.

Yeah i ended up using that too. Such a weird bug ive never seen anything cause corpses to never disappear, it really sucks it was never fixed.

Settlement Tidy Bot is working great to clear out the bodies. For anyone else getting annoyed by bodies piling up in settlements it's well worth it to add this simple tiny mod to your load order.

I had the same problem and kind of found a solution for myself.

So like the above I narrowed it to conqueror. With just the core mods (Sim 3:1, WKshop Framework, Conqueror) all updated to their latest versions and enabled, I could replicate it every time and it would go away if Conqueror was disabled. Like the the above nothing seemed t fix it, so I tried downgrading conqueror to an older version and tested with a bat file to set the various corpse settings to disappear instantly with fast travel and back. I decided to randomly test starting from version 4.1.5 using a clean starting save in the vault. I randomly chose to start at version 4.1.5 and just kept going up 1 at a time up to see the what version I could get to before the bug would appear. It started to appear for me in Conq version 4.2.5. So, if you're experiencing the bug, maybe try an earlier version of Conqueror like 4.2.4

TLDR: try an earlier version of conqueror like 4.2.4.
I hope this helps anyone else with this issue.

This is happening to me now, we need a hotfix ASAP, I know kinggath no longer works on this but at least he could leave it in a working state, the save bloat is real with this one, save files already going for 90mb wut.

Workarounds like scrapping the corpses or using tidy bot just circumvent the problem and actually make it bigger to some degree, since the NPCs you scrap this way most likely won't be able to spawn in your game again, and this is a problem because these NPCs are recycled for a lot of stuff (depending on the mod sometimes), getting rid of them this way is just like sweeping garbage under a rug.

@kinggath halp us

How exactly does Settlement Tidy Bot compound the problem? I put many hours into Conqueror using that mod. I'm not aware of any issues related to it. I had problems not getting the questline to continue, but I'm pretty sure that had to do with something else.

Don't get me wrong, if there was an update for Conqueror I think that would be great. If the corpses issue was fixed that would be cool, I just think that users have experienced way more serious problems that should take priority.

Corpses should be cleaning up on their own, apparently this didn't happen 4 versions before and even kinggath said he would add a fix and a tool to manually run that fix too iirc.
Also if you mean more serious problems like game instability corpses laying around like this can cause instability especially on consoles

You said that using Tidy Bot makes the problem bigger. How so?

Yes, I agree that when the corpses pile up it seems to slow things down on console. Settlement Tidy bot seems to have completely solved that for me.

Wondering that also I specifically used tidy bot with no issues with conquers, my understanding is tidy bot just runs the cleanup script when it finds a dead body. That shouldn’t break anything as far as I know.
