I assigned Curie and Connie Abernathy to sunshine tidings coop. After the foundation animation, both are missing when it ends. I set leader required for auto building. I tried it with sending goodfeels for repairs and still the same. So I guess there's a current bug with Sunshine tidings coop?

So much going here.

A few questions:

Did you send both to live at Sunshine, and/or did you assign each separately to the city planner's desk to be the leader the leader of Sanctuary?

When you look at click on the Blueprints of CP desk and get the city details, who does it say is leading Sunshine?

Is your problem that Curie and Connie aren't in Sunshine when you expect that they should be or that even when assigned as a leader they don't show up in Sunshine?

There is a known vanilla bug with Curie: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Curie

"Upon dismissal Curie will reappear outside the medical room in Vault 81, regardless of where she is dismissed, even if dismissed to Sanctuary while in Sanctuary, she will immediately sprint toward Vault 81. [verified]
  • Workaround: Reload an earlier save file and don't give the cure to Dr. Forsythe at the end of the "Hole in the Wall" quest until after speaking to Curie inside the doctor's clinic. She won't actually enter the room herself, so the player character has to get behind Curie and push her into the clinic. She will then initiate the proper dialogue to become a companion and will stay at the player character's chosen settlement. Alternatively, resetquest comcurie followed by setstage comcurie 83 will trigger the join companion dialogue, after which Curie can be moved as required."
If Curie will not remain in Sunshine, you might check to see if you've caught this bug.

(I'll add that you may also try making Curie the leader via the blueprint options on the CP desk. I mean make her the leader with the desk options and not via assigning her to the desk in workshop mode. Doing this with Codsworth will get him to move from his spot in Sanctuary even when his quest stage would have him camping out. It may work similarly for Curie.)

Since Connie is only available to be a leader through an add-on, and not with SS/RotC itself, what add-on are you using? Which ever it is, you might check it's nexus page to see if anything weird is getting reported about Connie.

You can't normally move any of the Abernathy's to other settlements, the only way to get them to move is by assigning them as a leader via the CP desk. This thread may offer some insight/help with figuring out what's going on with Connie: https://simsettlements.com/site/index.php?threads/connie-abernathy-wont-go-home.6891/

Like I said above, there's a lot going on to figure out. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable jumping to this conclusion just yet.

So far when I use the City's planner desk in a new settlement, I can assign available npcs or companions to the settlement and they automatically will be there after building animation is finished. Sturges automatically dropped by in Red Rocket Stop or Starlight drive in in my previous playthrough.

The add on I was using is Leaders of the Commonwealth. And I always craft a city planner's desk from the workshop and using the blueprints on the desk to assign a leader.

I used Amazing Follower Tweaks function to allow an active companion to clear the settlement in a few seconds before starting auto build. Curie was not my active companion though. I haven't had any problems with clearing settlement since I used it in Sanctuary, Red Rocket Stop, Tenpines buff, Abernathy Farm.

I checked the city planner's desk and they are leader. I reloaded my saves a few times, each time with Curie or Connie Abernathy assigned as leader. They don't show up even when I used the holotape to call a meeting.

Since Curie's assignment as leader comes with the base mod, I had assumed that it was some inner workings in the base mod.

So even though they are assigned as the leader, they aren't actually showing up in the settlement.

The first thing I'd do is assign someone else to lead Sunshine, like Sturges since you haven't had any trouble with him doing what he's supposed to. (Make a save before you do this, and then you can roll back so that Sturges is still doing his thing wherever you had him assigned.) If Sturges shows up, I think that should rule out it being a problem with Sunshine itself.

No for the trouble makers.

Have you waited a couple of game days to make sure they aren't just slow to arrive. You are right that using the town gavel usually gets them to the settlement in a flash. But, sometimes we have to test out things for science.

Do you happen to know where they are? Is Connie still at Abernathy Farm?

What about Curie? Did you use her as a companion and then dismiss her to a settlement? If so is she actually in the settlement you dismissed her to? or does the Amazing Follower Tweaks mod (I'm not familiar with this one/haven't ever used it) offer some novel way to unlock Curie as a companion?[Just skimmed it's nexus page. Wow. That looks like a "thick owner's manual" mod.]

My hunch is that you've got the Curie bug I mentioned above. It's super annoying. No matter where you tell her to go, she goes right back to Vault 88. If you've had her as a companion and have dismissed her to a settlement and she isn't in that settlement when you get there or town gavel for her, go to Vault 88. I bet you'll find her camped out outside Dr Forsythe's office. If this is the case, you'll have to accept the fact she isn't going no where except as your companion or you'll have to roll back saves to make it right or you'll have do some console command magic.

I don't have any guesses about what Connie's got up to. Except that her devotion to Blake and Lucy is the cement of an unbreakable bond;)

Maybe @woodfuzzy has some insights:

Moving a unique NPC ie; Connie, from their original settlement breaks their packages and sometimes, moving them back doesn't fix it. Things like those little banter dialogs the Abernaths have, will never fire and they will just stand around in one spot every time the quest is triggered.
But in all fairness, the Abernathys.. they don't even have to be moved to bug out. LOL
Personally, I used the unique leaders for the settlement they were originally from.

I tested Sunshine today with leaders of the commonwealth mod npcs. Abernathy and Tenpines can appear after 24 hrs later of sleep in survival. Curie, on the other hand...

I don't know if its a conflict with Amazing Followers Tweak or the base game itself. I had Curie as a follower and used Amazing Followers Tweak to clear the settlement. Then I auto build with Curie as a leader. I summoned her using AFT and she appear for a brief sec then disappear.

I'm guessing a conflict of meshes? Or something.
