Stuck in Hub of the Problem

I'm stuck at searching the sub-basement for clues about ASAMs. I can't find anything and I can't progress.

There are four things you must find:

  • the "printing press" that's producing ASAMs
  • the holotape in the Novice-locked back room
  • the "Vault-tec Comm Hub" that needs power
  • the technical documents on the desk next to the "Vault-Tec Comm Hub"

TL;DR - try clicking on ALL THE THINGS.

I've never had any problems with this quest, I wonder what it is exactly. Although... I always grab the "technical documents" BEFORE turning on the "Vault-tec Comm Hub", and it comes up in the dialog sequence where Jake tries to work out what it is...

Pretty sure that’s what I did. I may have to go back to before I entered the building if it doesn’t work itself out.

The objective not updating is Search Vault-Tec HQ. Jake won't follow me out of the sub-basement and there is no indicator as to what I might have missed.

ah, this is a flow-on issue from the lobby. Rollback save to before you went in and when Jake is at the PC let the ghoul attack him actually chill in a corner and let him kill everything till he says let's find the guys office. if jake sits down and chills and does not follow you this is broken and you will want to roll back that save.

So I went back to a save just outside the building and now the investigate Jake's lead ins't check out. What finalizes that?

I'm in the sub-basement, once again unable to complete this.

No problem with this part. But it isn’t marking the investigate Jake’s lead as being done.

I have done the sub-basement part in just about any order imaginable. I never had any problems completing this part of the quest.

There is a ghoul that pops out from under the desk after Jake tries to use the terminal. This needs to happen for the quest to proceed. IIRC, he says something like "I think we're finally safe" messes with the terminal and says we need to find this "Magnusson's office."

Yeah, I've seen that. Went through that part of the quest three times and it is still not marking that objective as done. No, I did not help him; I just got in the corner with the elevator, went through the dialogue with him and he finally said look for this dude's office. I'm pretty stuck here and cannot go anywhere.

Did you find "the dude's office" on the top floor? There is a scene at a terminal that needs to play and a key card that needs to be found before the basement.

What finishes that objective? Investigate the Jake's lead? We are at the office, Jake has gone through the terminal and we now have the objective to go to the basement.

I get the impression that that objective is fulfilled when Jake access the terminal in the lobby and then says to find the office but it is not triggering. I went back to a save before I meet with Jake and it is just not happening. Does anyone have any ideas when is going on and is there a way around this?
