SS/RotC and Horizon balancing tips?

New video card arriving in a couple days thanks to black Friday, and the first thing I want to do is start a new playthrough with Sim Settlements, Rise of the Commonwealth, and Horizon as the major mods. Horizon will be a new experience for me, but I have played SS/RotC before.

Can anyone share their experiences in configuring SS/RotC with the goal of maintaining Horizon's scarcity and related balancing? Or simply adjustments in your game play to honor Horizon's balancing intent?

Horizon rebalances the availability of resources, making many much scarcer. Reading through FAQ's and other posts the main issues I've seen listed with using the three mods together is SS/RotC can unbalance Horizon's scarcity. Some of the suggestions/comments I've come across include:

- Turn off SS/RotC Maintenance.
- Taxes might be generating too many caps, possibly disable.
- RotC settlements are generally overpowered. (not sure if this extends beyond basic caps/food/water/junk)
- SS & Horizon both have auto-assign, so disable one of them, likely SS.
- Industrial Revolution is unbalancing (though I'm not planning to use it).

I see there's a SS/Horizon balancing patch listed in beta. Will take a look at that as well once I get the new game started.

Currently finishing off my first batch of mod installations. Unsurprisingly I've found quite a lot of popular mods would probably unbalance or even break Horizon if not patched.

Will come back and edit this post with my mod list and notes as I get some playtime in. Hopefully I can make this a resource for others.
