(Spoilers) Cleese aka Cue missing?

I've been progressing through the Solar Artillery quest and I'm stuck at the point a few others are: I've got the transponder and the Archimedes codes and I've aligned the solar panels and I've decrypted the schematics.

I'm pretty sure the next step is to take all this stuff to a person who will build the thing that looks like a gun to do the targeting.

I got fed up and started digging through the files and I'm 99% sure I'm supposed to talk to "Cue", who is referred to as "Cleese" in the trailer. As best as I can tell he should just spawn in the Advanced Weapons plot. I've looked for conditions that need to be met for him to be activated, including decompiling some scripts, and as far as I can tell there aren't any, which is why I assume he should just be there when the plot is completed. But he's not there.

If I've missed something and there is actually a condition that needs to be met before he'll show up, let me know. Otherwise I think this is a bug that is stopping people from progressing the quest.

If he's not showing up in that plot, you should try a manual install and then refresh the plot. It would mean you are missing some script files.

This happens frequently for people using Nexus Mod Manager, because it's a very buggy piece of software, and rarely copies over large ba2 files correctly.

Thanks for the prompt response! I just tried a manual install and refresh, and Cue did not appear. I do now have a second energy signature scanner, so that's neat.

Other people seem to be stuck at the same point (https://simsettlements.com/site/ind...ution-tech-tree-discovery-spoilers.949/page-9), which is what leads me to think that it's a bug. Indeed, as far as I know no one has actually managed to complete this quest as of yet, and I have yet to see a comment referencing Cue.

Anything else I can try?

I'll go through all of it again today to see if something happened in a recent patch to break things. We tested this a million times before 3.3.0 was released to make sure it could be done (knowing that people would be pretty frustrated if it was broken), but I haven't tested it in a few weeks - so perhaps something went awry.

Works like a charm after the 3.4.0 patch. I think it's well balanced: it's powerful, but by the time you get it you are likely very powerful already.

One (very minor) issue: I was playing a female character at the time and Cue referred to me as the "prodigal son". Not a big deal here, but gender-specific NPC dialogue might be important as your quests get bigger.
