So who would you like to see as City Managers as ROTC evolves?

The glorious Marcy cloned 34 times as a synth with a unique serial number but the same scintillating personality issues.

I stand by my statement that she'd be perfect as a leader. Too bitter for the Supermutants to eat and too nasty for the raiders to mess with.

Can NPCs be restricted as to which cities they are allowed to run? This might make sense in some cases.

If Far Harbor Cities are added:
Uncle Ken, why shouldn't he run his own visitor's center?
Small Bertha could run the lumber mill, which he wants you to turn into a settlement.
Cassie Dalton could run the Dalton farm, obviously.

For Vanilla, Ronnie Shaw could run the Castle.
That Railroad Caretaker could be the leader of whatever settlement becomes the Safehouse.
If you don't kill everyone at Covernant, their mayor could be the RotC mayor. Otherwise, maybe put Amelia Stockton in charge there? :D

I have this image of Jun as Harry Mudd looking at a necklace and going "Five *hundred*! *CAPTAIN*"

I think I'd much rather see new characters made as leaders. 30 or so new NPC's with limited dialogue designed to be Sim Settlements leaders. Maybe some interesting backstory and unique dialogue options, but simpler characters similar to T4 merchants. Perhaps even acquired in the same way as many of them are with random encounters requiring a simple quest to be completed, from providing some help during ongoing combat, to rescuing their child from a dungeon. This to me would feel very much like a vanilla component.

Someone on the SS mod page posted they had Dogmeat as a leader ?? eh ? :scratchhead:unknw, he never shows on mine, probably from a mod interaction

I understand that the different leaders will impart some special "perk" or some-such to the settlement they are in charge of. I'd like to see that each Leader adds a different flavor to the settlements they are in charge of. Codsworth would have a different sense of what's "right & proper" for we surviving humans than, say, Strong. Do settlements have clutter? Maybe static items that get strewn around to reflect: this settlement was run by Piper, this one by Hancock, or Mama Murphy, etc. That may already be in the cards for this, but thought I'd suggest it if it wasn't. :moil

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere, but I can't find it:

Question: Why are Leaders needed?

As much as I enjoy the RoTC, there's more settlements than companions to lead them. It's negatively impacting gameplay for me to wait for someone to become available to be Leader. I'm now faced with a choice between not developing a settlement while awaiting a leader, OR developing one knowing it'll all be destroyed when a Leader is assigned, OR decide for it not to be an RoTC settlement at all. (I do get bored waiting, as building up the settlements is the best part of the game for me.)

I'm sure there's a good reason for Leaders. Just wish they weren't necessary, or that the pool of candidates was wide enough to cover most of the settlements. Thank you for all the work you do!

For now you'll need to share what is available. There are good reasons for gating the settlements behind a resource availability and it starts with not letting the player crash their save with too much running simultaneously.

While optimizations are in the works to improve this, they're not ready just yet.

It's frustrating but think about how much time it's saving you building a comparable settlement even if you're plopping a desk, kicking it off, giving them enough water to get up to level one, then sleeping for a month or so.

why did i get a flashback to CK2 where my character always ends up insane and appoints glitterhof as spymaster.
actually we need a Brahmin to appoint as mayor, would work really well with idiot savant.

i would support these suggestions they do make alot of sense especially the railroad safehouse as caretaker is there to ''take care of things'' for the synths and having him be a mayor would give him the power to do so effectivly.

but might is suggest that a collab with Interesting NPCs in order to get uniqe extra mayors with voice acting?
that modding group is really talented on making NPCs

Sturges, please, Sturges. He is the only intelligent person in that group (Preston included).

Also, I think it would be fun to see diferent settlement styles depending on who you chose as leader, but I supose that in the end that depends on the available city plans...

Sturges can be a real whiny ass bish at times too, specially if using ss with rotc he still asks you to help and if you take the " no i cant help yet " he gets annoyed , ... but yes he'd make a good possible leader..

I think it would be interesting if some of the random encounter NPCs could be asked to join and lead a settlement. Gene encounter could have a settlement full of dogs. Kelly could have a bunch of Bramin in her settlement. The Gassy settler. The Preston Garvey impersonator. etc.

I seem to be the only person in the world that doesn't hate Preston Garvey.

Now Marcy otoh. 'What makes you think we're friends'. 'I got this settlement for you, built the water, power, and defenses, am standing in front of you with enough firepower to **** liberty prime *and* the airship he rode in on, and live in a place called 'Mayors Hut'. What makes you think I'm not your boss?'

Since zimonja is awesome in the expansion, I need a new place to send Marcy so she can live free without getting up in my grill all the time. Murkwater?

Seems like an ideal candidate to go live in Covenant to me. 'Hi. I murdered all these people, basically because they ticked me off. How about you and your husband go live there in a nice place I really don't care about that really only has room for like six people.

I actually have a nice build at Covenent. I don't want to dirty it with Marcy.
(In vanilla, 15 settlers! no settlement expansions, no build height expansions).

I LOVE interior plots

I had a hard time fitting interior plots there actually, although I did use the extended settlements mod and had a nice chunk of residences down by the water.
Feels stupid, I just really don't like going to Covenant because I would like to have been able to save at least two of the people there, but not enough that I was going to let them kill that Synth and keep torturing people to improve their ******* detection rate.
