I've found an old post sort of about this, but it didn't really answer my question. :(

I use Sim Settlements 3 in 1 and I have Settlement Limits Slashed. I literally just noticed about 10 minutes ago that SS 3 in 1 has a build limit option. I actually wasn't aware of the option as I just started back playing again and redownloded all the old mods I used to use. From what I read, SS 3 in 1 apparently doesn't always play nice with settlement limit mods.

The few posts I saw/read were some people asking about it, and every response was "it's not needed". However, were as I know now it isn't needed, I'm concerned about removing Settlement Limits Slashed and it wigging my game out. Thus my question is this: Can I keep both installed and the game play nice with each other? I've CTD a few times going into my bigger settlements, but nothing major. I just load the game back up and I'm good. I have a brand new rig that absolutely can handle rendering everything, I just don't want my game to brick down the road. I already started over once and removed some mods. I rather not start over AGAIN if I don't have to. :(

    Thanks in advance!

tl;dr: Will SS 3 in 1 play nice with settlement limits slashed so I don't have to start the game over... again. :(

    I have never used it.

I was curious so looked at the "read me" in the mod package.

"Someone came up to me and told me that apparently it takes two commands to make a settlement have unlimited build limit with no limit.
I was like "Oh okay, I'll just write a script that automates that process." and did.

All this mod does it run a single script once and then unlocks your build limit. In other words, your settlements will have absolutely no build limit. Pretty clear right? To help you make sure the mod is working, the first time you run it will give you a message saying it is.
All you have to do is install and activate it, no hastle, no .bat files, no drama, no wrongful arrests, no malamutes. Maybe.
    Have fun."

What I expect here is your "settlement bar" will never fill up. G2M dose something like this too. This is fine.

For a direct answer to your question. "I would leave it alone until your next game."

I don't recommend disabling or uninstalling mods mid-game. That said :crazy I might test it had I installed it to see what would happen and check it afterward with Fallrim, but....:nea that is me and I can be really stupid. I would have made a controlled save that I could roll back too which is smart. :good

Do I think it will be a problem? No, but as with any mod unless I use it I am not the best source.

My guess is you'll be fine, If it becomes a problem then.... who knows? To save a playthrough you maybe could disable something like this if the menu pop-up things becomes a problem. I noticed that in the comments section. But, that is about all I saw.

    Authors Comment:
"No, I don't have the same problems. Like I said, this modifies two values on a workbench, "

    I would leave it be.

Thank you! I'll leave it be and do my best not to go TOO crazy. My husband picks at me all the time because I enjoy building and he's convinced that any past/current problems I run into are my settlements (he doesn't really care about settlement building, but he does use this mod to plop down houses after I showed it to him long ago).

If I run into issues later down the road, well... I've started playing this game countless times and, like Skyrim, haven't actually... beaten it... yea... I usually get distracted with building and then something gets corrupted or I burnt out and quit. Always at the glowing sea quest too. lol

If I have to start over again, I'll try it without the build limit mod and try using the SS 3 in 1 build limit options. Again, thank you for the quick and helpful reply!

i used several mods over the years that removed or massively increased the build limit - in my own experience they were fine. as far as i know from reading on the topic, the build limit was put there for consoles, as they have limited capacity for dealing with huge settlements.
over time, i transitioned from on version to the next, as they became abandoned, and eventually sim settlements developed its own method of dealing with the settlement limit, and that's where i am today.
i have to say that its a long way from that old drop all your weapons on the floor and pick them up routine which was part of the game in its early days.
anyway - now that you know sim settlements deals with this issue - you are free and clear to remove the mod or mods you have in your load order - FOR YOUR NEXT NEW GAME.
Please don't be tempted to remove it from your current game as that could have consequences.
However - you should watch Kinggath's latest play through because he has created a method for you to export your existing settlements from your current game, and have them be available for any new game you play, which could be something of a life saver for you if you decide that you want to do that. You can also make them available as mods for anyone else to see your work (and it could lead you into the settlement competition that is run from here).
Please let us know how you get on with your game and if you decide to use Kinggath's tools to export your settlements.

I'll have to look into that. I spend such a long time working on the bigger settlements like the trading co and starlight (I usually make starlight my main hub with all the stores). Thank you all for the help!
