No Response Should I wait for performance option changes to complete before leaving the vault?

I notice this start that I got a notification that performance option changes were being applied and it might take a while. Got this notification at the terminal to open the overseer's escape tunnel. I waited a long time before even picking up the pipboy. Eventually, assuming I missed the completed notification I carried on with the play thru.

I finally got the notification that performance option changes had after I had levelled up while at Wicked Shipping next to Abernathy.

Is it best practice to remain in the vailt until everything finishes? Does it even matter?

Could you give us more detail, because I am not sure if you are talking about a new game (leaving Vault 1110 or something different.

As you are Xbox and not sure your mods, limits, issues, would you be so kind as to give us more detail, then hopefully we can help :)

Thanks, @GA_Darkerside. It sometimes takes a few laps around the school house for me to even figure out what I'm trying to ask.

Yes, I'm talking about a new Conqueror game and how Conqueror itself configures the game.

After you make your character in the Sanctuary house bathroom, you get the option to have Conqueror prebuild settlements and are able to configure how you want it to do so. I assume that whatever choices one makes, the process of implementing these choices starts somewhere between Sanctuary and leaving the Vault.

My question is, is it best practice to wait for what(ever) Conqueror is doing, in the background to setup and to establish a Conqueror play thru, to finish before actually leaving Vault 111?

Does it matter? Are there consequences for rushing into the game world before Conqueror has fully baked everything?

I started another play thru from scratch. At the overseer's desk in vault 111, after you open the evacuation tunnel, it's the city manage holotape 2078 that gives the notification that it is applying performance changes. (Do i have any holotapes? Don't know. I ain't got pipboy yet.)

I continue on with the game until I get near the exit. I waited at the pip boy, but didn't pick it up, for around twenty minutes or so.

I decided maybe I missed the completed notification (the notifications go by so fast) or maybe it just won't finish until you get above ground. IDK. I put on the pipboy. (I have no holotapes in my inventory.) And I went ahead and exited the vault.

Then, I went straight to Sanctuary, talked to Codsworth, killed the insects, and opened the workshop. The notification that the City Manager Holotape had completed it's business popped while I was talking to Codsworth. (I made a save to mark the the game time: 12 minutes after leaving the vault save, and 45 minutes after the exit cryo chamber save.)

Only then did I make the trek to Sunshine. When I got there, it was fully functioning, full of civilians, and preexisting debris was scrapped as expected. (Wasteland Survival was missing, I assume it has been moved to the workbench.)

The only thing I've done different this play thru is removed Egret and Far Harbor Settlements from the settlement build list, waited longer than usual to leave the vault, slowed my roll, and opened Sanctuary workshop as soon as possible, instead of just skipping it.

In my previous Conqueror starts, I've rushed through and out of the vault straight to Abernathy, Starlight, or Sunshine eager and curious to see what's going on at the prebuilt settlements. In all of these previous play thrus, I've managed to get to one or more of the prebuilt settlements before the performance changes that started in the Vault have completed. And, although city plan structures are more or less built, every settlement has been a ghost town and none of the original junk seems to have been scrapped.

@GA_Darkerside I just realized I didn't post this in the Conqueror Questions section. Still getting used to the NEW.

I think I found my answer:

Suggested Workarounds for Known Issues
  • The single most important piece of advice is to be patient. Go do some vanilla quests and level up for a few real world hours before trying to do the Conqueror quest line beyond the Museum of Freedom. If you're having bugs even as early as the Museum of Freedom reload an earlier save to before you've gone to Concord. Go around Concord (don't get close enough to trigger Concord quests at all) and give all the background code a chance to run first.

Yep thats why I got confused lol, would have been a different answer if it was in the correct forum.

I think it will take time to get used to the new layout, however I created it to make it tidier and more welcoming.

I will move this post for you :)
