Shameless Plug: Yagisan's Better Caravans

Curious. are the bots immortal? do i have to worry about them being destroyed?
Like Vanilla, they are protected. You can kill them, but raiders etc, can not. They will NOT respawn if killed.

Speaking of killing provisioners, I accidentally killed my JP provisioner last night while helping defend against a radscorpion (? first time I've seen that!) invasion. I forgot I still had my explosive automatic combat rifle equipped, and the provisioner died in the explosion splash.

So I assigned a new provisioner, but now I have the old provisioner's logistics bot just hanging out outside JP, where I can't get to him in workshop mode. Any way to get rid of him? Or will he just hang out there forever, pining for his lost master? :cray

I have no idea - I have never killed any of my provisioners. I don't have any mortal settler patches.

You could open the console, select the bot and enter "disable", then "markfordelete" and it will disappear forever.

I don’t *think* I have a mortal settlers patch either, unless I set an option in Better Settlers wrong.

ETA: On further thought, I remembered that it's vanilla behavior that the player character or his/her companion can kill settlers -- they're not protected from death from the PC, only from other NPCs. I remembered having a whole settlement turn against me when Curie grabbed a laser scattergun from a Gunner during an invasion and killed a bunch of settlers in the process (and then she got mad at ME and left my company -- good ol' FO4). However, if you kill one covertly, or away from the settlement, they don't seem to notice. One of the reasons I try to remember to make a quicksave before going to the aid of a settlement, though in this particular case, the attack happened while I was there, and the provisioner was killed outside the boundaries.

Here's the relevant section from the wiki:
However, they can be killed by the player character and should one be knocked out, any damage done to them by the Sole Survior will kill them. One is advised to avoid using explosives in combat near owned settlements.

Anyway, if the bot is still there next time I go to JP I'll do the markfordelete thing.
