Old Post Settlment Mods?

Hi!
First of all: I love Sim Settlements! It's great and usually works fine.

I have just one question: Is there a chance to make it work (use and develop lots) in additional Settlements (non vanilla / DLC Workbenches)? One of my mods added a nice cabin in the north. I built a desk, placed the foundations and lots, built all the infrastructure, even a few settlers came along, but the lots are not built and the settlers are starving bored:). The Desk tells me that I'm out of range (so it doesn't recognise the settlement). Do I need to do anything else or does it simply not work?

It sounds like this is a case of the workshop wackiness that can happen when adding and deleting new settlement mods.

There are people here who are way more savvy about the specifics, but as I understand it if you add a mod that makes a new settlement/workshop, you can never delete it.

You can use SS with new settlements and plots should work fine. With the desk, if it is saying you are out of range it means it can’t figure out the workshop you are trying to use somehow. I imagine that translates into something going wonky with plots.

So, either you’ve got the adding and deleting workshops thing which messes stuff up, or there is something a bit wonky with how the mod added the workshop.

As I said, in general mod-added settlements will work fine.

Thank you!
I have no idea what mod added the settlement. Maybe it was "Northern Springs". I don't have any other "new settlements" as far as I know. Just discovered this one yesterday and never disabled any mod I played with. So I guess its just a "broken" settlement.

Most well made mod added settlements work great with Sim Settlements. However - once you add a modded settlement to a game - you can NOT remove it from that playthrough.

Even if the settlement has a wonky navmesh, Sim Settlements will assign them correctly to plots. They will just end up standing around or teleporting to where they want to go. (Best not to use shops in settlements like that - you will spend ages looking for whoever has the shop dialogue)

There is a mod that adds a cabin settlement in the north, which is a bit wonky... forget the name. Norther Springs adds just a little cabin, that is actually outside the vanilla border.
IF the settlement was done correctly you should be able to build the desk and when clicking on the blueprint see the name of the settlement.

If you don't see the settlement name... prolly shouldn't use SS there.

The settlement seems to be completely broken. Manual assignment doesn't work. The NPC run to the plots or even single plants, and return immediately to what they did before.
There is no option to assign a leader. On the plan screen the name is displayed correctly ( ... cabin), when I view the details, it says echo lake. So I'll leave it alone, disable the mast and send the settlers to my other settlements.

Thanks for your input!

That's the signs of a corrupt cell! Bummer!!

A shame.

As a general rule, if I have released a city plan for it, that mod added settlement works. Please note that sometimes only specific versions work, so make sure you are getting the right version.

If at all possible, you should revert to a save game from before you installed that broken settlement mod.

I just started a new game. After half an hour of intro, tutorial and walking, I figured out, what I already assumed: The settlement is broken. Now it allows me to select the city plan for Coventant ;)
