Closed Settlers can’t be moved

I’m having a weird issue that I confess might not be new because I never tried to do it before. I’m on XBOX and a new playthrough where I’m just experimenting with a few things SS related and taking a shot at Starlight, so I have no mods that aren’t SS.

Anyway, I can’t get settlers to actually move to another settlement if they are assigned to anything. It goes through the motions of telling them to move just fine, but they never actually do it. I tried a few out by destroying whatever they were assigned to so that they would be unassigned and then boom they move fine.

Relatedly, is there a way to unassign? Never need that before.

I've seen this when scripts get lagged. They'll eventually move or reassign, but you've got to sit and wait a long time for it to happen.

In other games actually, yes. I abandoned the playthrough in question at some point and I’ve not really tried it much since.
