Settlers are automatically unnassigned from most vanilla items

Hi,
My settlers are systematically unnassigned from vanilla crops or guard posts when i come back to a settlements. Auto assign is deactivated in both SS2 and WSFW. I don't know what to do and this is quite inconvenient. Thanks for any help.

I almost have 20 plots done. Adding in my fishing ag and naval defense plots today. Then on to hemp conversion. Oh and did I mention the new interior worldspace AJ's Joint and the new Unique NPC's?

I'm glad and happy to see this issue still being discussed.
I currently got away from Fallout because this whole assignment issue is frustrating and very unsatisfying gameplay-wise.
I merely want to be able assign my settlers to both SS2 residential and recreational plots but also want to be able to assign them to an artilery if I want.
I spent hours building a settlement in Hangman's alley and built a cozy 1x1 outdoor res plot on the highest roof, next to an artillery and assigned a settler to it but it keeps unassigning itself and I can't benefit from the artillery... This is just sad.

BTW, @Din'elen DarkStar what is that image you shared? Are those vanilla ss2 advanced martial plots or a custom mod?
I haven't unlocked all tiers for martial so I don't know if there are any martial plots WITH artillery and can ACT as artillery... Would be awesome if there is...

It is a Minuteman mod I am working on. I was testing my Tank Artillery hi tech martial plot. Yes they function as artillery. There is a mod that has artillery already in the wild just escapes me the name right now. I have them all so it's hard keeping track of what comes from what

Junk Town 2 has a couple of artillery plots, 3x3 oversized advanced (my favorite) and a hi-tech one. Not that I ever got to test them, wanted to nuke some radstags for Amara's quest but alas, operation costs were unmet.
