Settlement attack?

While working in Bunker Hill I got a message saying some 700 ghouls were heading to county crossing (My food settlement). So I went there and added a few turrets and after waiting 48 hours and sleeping 48 hours nothing has shown up :/

I've never seen popups detailing it like that before, nor an attack anywhere NEAR that size...
 
12 ghouls showed up finally after a week.

I went to covenent and about 80 raiders attacked <.<

No warning or anything. Said raider renforcements were coming more massive waves.

I hadnt even claimed Covenent yet. <.<
 
Lol sorta. But they had guns. I finally resorted to killing them with console commands cause all I had was the starting pistol :P
 
I think its the "This settlement does not need your help - BS Defense redonw - BS defence v3.2" I noticed it has a maximum attack number and it was set to 999.

Spot on, it is that mod.

Thing is, it is a bit buggy and even the author himself said that the mod uses Workshop Framework in a way it was most likely not intended.
From the forum comments and bugs section (and my own experience) it may get more buggy the further you progress in the game.

Supposedly a new version is being made without the WF dependency and less risky coding, but for now it might not be entirely recommended to have in the load order.

In hindsight I wonder if this mod could have caused possible conflicts with SS2CH3 and the war mechanics e.g. reinforcements not spawning at all or teleporting between spawn point and the battlefield at random etc.
