Welcome to the first of the Season 3 Playoffs: CIty Plan Competition!

We thought this would be a fun way of allowing people to still get their city plan competition addiction groove on while we wait for Chapter 3 / Season 4.

Your choice of settlements this month is....wait....what was that Yagisan? They don't get a choice....Oh budget cuts...I see.... Well....as I was saying this month the choice is

Greentop Nursery

It's no secret that the key to success here is clever use of the greenhouse!

As Kinggath mentioned in the video posted above the rules and prizes are staying the same for the playoffs with a few little tweaks here and there as we wildy experiment on contestants...use you as guinea pigs...optimise the rules and make it easier for entrants to participate.

Kinggath has posted about an update to how we calculate build limit in this post in the Rules section.

Requirements:
  • The settlement must have a City Planners Desk and a Beacon.
  • All city plans must contain all 4 levels.
  • To encourage MAXIMUM CREATIVITY we will not be imposing any other restrictions on entries.
  • Please use the Contest Holotape and check your settlement before submitting. Entries with Purple/Illegal items will be ineligible.
Please note: If you don't want to post your entry to NEXUS you can post it within the Entries forum!

The forum for this competition can be found here.

Competition Entries Close on 11:59 PM CST on the 28th July, 2022!

G'day folks. It's time for another city plan contest. There are a few things different in this months contest. And there are some requests from myself to contest entrants.

Build Limit changes
Please do your best to respect the build limit. We are testing new build limit code calculations. Please assist with this by not ignoring the limit in this build.
When you are finished, please upload your level 3 save here, so we can evaluate this. This is in addition to posting your entry to the forums or on Nexus. Uploading just your save to me is not a valid entry.

The Wabbajack installer
Please strongly consider
using the SimSettlements 2 City Plan Contest Helper wabbajack to create your entry. It's use is not mandatory at this stage, but it is highly encouraged that you familiarise yourself with this before Season 4.

The SimSettlements 2 City Plan Contest Helper wabbajack has been updated. The release notes are here. For those of you that haven't used it, this is a fully self-contained mod list set up to produce valid contest entries, with all known working addons. If you don't already have it, download Wabbajack from the Nexus here. You can find detailed installation instructions here, but the short version is essentially:
  1. Start Wabbajack, and select Browse Modlists. Under Games, select Fallout 4.
  2. Enable "Show Unofficial Lists". Select SimSettlements 2 City Plan Contest Helper from the selection.
  3. SS2CPC_in_WJ.png
  4. Hit the big start button. Follow any pop up instructions you get, such as log into Nexus.
  5. If you have Nexus premium, it's basically fully automated. If not - you'll have to click the download buttons. That's a Nexus condition.
  6. Open the installation folder and locate an executable named ModOrganizer.exe - double click on it. Hit the big button marked "Run".

Getting Started With the contest.
There are a few prompts that you will get when you exit vault 111. Experienced builders will be familiar with these, but for new and returning builders using the SimSettlements 2 City Plan Contest Helper wabbajack you will want to do the following quick setup.
config_1.jpg
Select No. There are no scrapping mods in the SimSettlements 2 City Plan Contest Helper wabbajack that can invalidate your entry.
config_2.jpg
Select Yes.
config_3.jpg
Open the MCM. Open MCM Settings Manager. Mouse over Yagisan's City Plan Contest Setup, and click on apply.
config_4.jpg
Select OK. Then exit the MCM. There will be a few more messages in the top left corner of the screen. Open the map and Fast travel to the contest location.

How to check the build limit
build_limit_1.jpg
Open the City Plan Contest Holotape. Open Tools. Select Check My Settlement.
build_limit_2.jpg
When complete, you'll get a message box with your build limit details in it.

I am looking forward to seeing all your entries.

At the request of several builders, and because frankly, it was an oversight on my part, the SimSettlements 2 City Plan Contest Helper has been updated to 3.15.1

The only change is the addition of a batch file to supply you with components to allow you to start building plots quickly. Open the console (it is the ~ key on most keyboards) then type bat build and press enter. This will spawn some crafting materials. Store it in the workshop. If it is not enough, run the batch file multiple times. You can also run tgm in the console to make building of regular objects free (this does not pay for plot costs - which is why we need the batch file)

As long as you still have the downloads from your initial installation of the SimSettlements 2 City Plan Contest Helper should take about 30 seconds to upgrade.

I can't do it with this construction limit.
I don't make excessive plans but maybe a bit loaded with items.
But I haven't managed to finish the master plan.
And on this plan, I've barely laid the foundations for level 2 and I'm 78% over. And I didn't do anything crazy.

Thank you to everyone that sent in saves early to help refine the build limit calculator. Please continue to do so! :agree:
