The big dogs are in this one. Y'all are some intimidating peeps. I was noodling if I could compete and as I mulled over the story aspect, something really clicked. Now I HAVE to build it just to see it!
Hat tip to all of y'all in this contest. I love your work.

Metric Sh#t tonne should be an official unit of measurement. It is at my workplace anyway. :)

I'm not gonna make it.
Plenty of time, clear rules, completely indecisive.
I built, tore down, rebuilt, tried again... but was never happy with the end result.
There is one spot, the main story element that I am happy with.

I will post pictures of that but I'm withdrawing from the contest.

That's fair. Sadly, I didn't take any screenshots and now the save file is buried away somewhere on my backup drive.

Here's the story I was going to write for it.

Ophelia snorted out to Ozymandias, "Isn't this all a bit much?" as she waved her hand across the now very cluttered beach of Spectacle Island. Rows of boats in various degrees of construction and operation crowded hastily built docks. The drydock where the Tug-O-War was being built dwarfed the smaller converted fishing vessels. Its tugboat hull now held several stories of housing, supply stores, and a battery of short and long range radios. And guns. Lots of guns.

Ozy considered her statement. "You have earned the right to know the answer." Her head snapped back into its are you insane position. He was used to that by now. It was fascinating to watch her mind work. He hadn't witnessed such insight since graduate school.

"No, it isn't too much. We are done here. It's time to spread our civilization to those that lack it."
She laughed louder and harder than he had expected. He frowned into his coffee. Either he was getting used to this Silt Bean betrayal, or he had forgotten what real coffee tasted like. She finally stopped laughing.

"Are you familiar with the feudalism type of government?" She started laughing again.
"King Ozymandias!" She was probably hurting herself. At least it sounded like it. Like a winged goose. He was running out of coffee.

"These settlements were nothing more than mud farmers hoping they wouldn't die tomorrow. Defenseless for the most part. Self-sufficient at best. Lacking in almost everything." He had her attention now as she wiped her eyes. He continued. "Now there are 20 something city states that are walled and well defended. Their population has grown tremendously. That has brought specialization which in turn has brought trade. Trade allows the accumulation of capital, and that capital was spent on industrialization."

Ophelia looked up at Ozy. Her eyes were calculating and narrow. After whatever arithmetic she conducted was over, she whispered, "I really do take back that clown statement when we first met."

"We're done here, Ophelia. The Commonwealth is a collection of interconnected city states. There is stability, trade, and industrialization. The most blood thirsty of the raiders have been killed off. The rest are weary of war. Some have even requested 'permanent' assignment at a settlement so they can settle down and start a family."

He looked at her with his sincerity unmasked. "How many more places out there are still like the mud farming settlements that used to dot the Commonwealth?" He finished off the last sip of his coffee.

"No, it's not enough."
"And yes, I'm king."
