Suggestion Request for Implementation re Autobutcher

Now that I'm really deep into my Conquer playthrough with just about all my settlements (minus a few that I've built into absolute fortresses) converted into raider camps/bases, I'm getting into larger and larger skirmishes with attackers in Defend ____. Quite awhile back I picked up a mod called Soylent Green to help alleviate all of the bodies that never seem to despawn from said base raids, to which I've built up multi-stage automations that autobutcher, break down into components, sort and build all manner of goodies (to include the obvious packaged Soylent Green food and drinks to armor, ammo, fusion cores, raider power armor, etc.) For the most part they work fine but are hugely backed up in processing due to my massive 'recycling' operation, but I've long wondered if this mod could be made into a preset Sim Settlement block of some sort?

While I've done a fair number of mods for other games, I am admittedly not great with the CK in FO4 or I would certainly attempt this myself.

WSFW already takes care of clearing bodies and it does a pretty good job of it I find. Any that it misses I just scrap in workshop mode.

I think your suggestion sounds pretty neat as there's lots of in-game lore supporting cannibalism (Super Mutants or Far Harbor's Trapper faction e.g.) but I feel like it should hugely piss off any faction members that aren't explicitly cannibals. There's no critical shortage of other sorts of food and water in the game world.

Seems like this is something to bring up to one of the mod authors of those cannibal factions, even if Kinggath isn't interested in adding it the Trapper/Super Mutant faction authors might.

e: dang I thought there was a trapper faction mod? I don't see one :(

I disagree that it should automatically piss off everyone. I think that there is a way to design such a plot that it would work. It just can’t be obvious. I haven’t started using conqueror per say, I just looked at the new plots, and if I’m not mistaken, there is a martial plot that auto loots bodies after an attack. Could it be something else than a martial plot? Could some entrepreneur make this is business? What if it’s the owner is in the same mindset as the Longneck Lukowski's cannery guy?

Nope... but there is a mirelurk faction... I find that slightly disturbing.

It's an interesting notion but would seemingly require the creation of a deception mechanic. The customers don't buy potted meat knowing that it's ghoul.

I have no idea why you think designing a plot that looks “good” but is shady behind the scene would require a new mechanic. Have you played Fallout? Because that happens all the time in that universe and didn’t required a deception mechanic in game, it was achieved through storytelling.

And no, I don’t mean that this plot would require voice acting or even a note, just smart and clever design. What the plot need to get across is it’s “official purpose” (body removal but it could be named as many types of businesses that would act like a front) and give enough hints of its shady actions to tell the story. Top of my head example: Industrial plot, official purpose: body recycling, produces fertilizer, does the auto loot that the new conqueror plot does and add soylent green to the workbench. From there it would only be a matter of small design hints about what happens to the bodies. Could be some cans to hint at the finished product with a few small body parts near them (like fingers) or if you like less subtle hints it could be a false wall that hides a meat grinder. Designing a plot like that to make sense isn’t hard, it only requires creativity.

The mechanic that would be problematic and require much more than creativity is the body removal as I have no idea if it’s possible to make a plot achieve that. That, I believe, might be the reason we won’t see a plot (or plots) do what he described. Also, even if someone could make it happen, pretty sure he’d have to accept that the production is a constant, not based on bodies found.

pissing off is contingent upon awareness. settlement inhabitants have eyes. clandestine body removal would be the deception 'mechanic'

Or role play. We have the martial plot that cleans up dead bodies (and somehow doubles the loot), there's a hunter plot from that raider pack (don't remember name) that has hanging beef (maybe see if the plot designer could make slight adjustment?), Then just have a potted meat shop all in same settlement.
