Remote Management Freezes Loading Memory Chair

As the title says, the game freezes while loading the memory chair cinematic right after Lupe says "what does that flashing red light mean". The screen goes black and the loading icon animation is frozen. A case of too much going on at HQ when I start that step of the quest?

Can you post your load order? There have been some visual conflicts with certain mods and that quest. It could also, as you pointed out, be an issue of script overload.

So I notice a few things - I would suspect NAC X might be the culprit. We have had issues with NAC X and certain cells in SS2 because of how it deals with weathers, including vanilla interior weathers or situations when there is no weather. This is only a suspicion because when you go into the memory lounger for remote management it takes you to a very unique interior cell - and weather changes might be causing a problem there - but again that's speculation. You could try to briefly disable NAC and see if that works, but obviously you would have to roll back your save after doing that because I once disabled NAC mid-playthrough before I knew that was something you should never do and it totally borked my game, but for testing purposes you can see if that's where the problem is coming from. If it is, you may not be able to use the memory lounger if you want to continue with your playthrough and with NAC X, but you could potentially complete the quest via console commands and move on.

I also notice that you have both PRP and Scrap Everything, and I'm curious about that because PRP largely functions to make the precombine system more robust to improve performance, but Scrap Everything breaks all the precombines, so there may be a more general conflict there.

I could give disabling NAC X a try and see. Pretty easy to do for testing to let you know.

I used Scrap Everything early on before I knew anything about precombines. It is a great help when trying to clean up settlements. Too bad there is not a way to implement its function without breaking precombines. It has caused a few issues such as psycadelic graphics when entering Mechanists Lair and Vault 88. Disabled it and was able to complete the quests there and afterwards reenable it. I started using PRP when several mods called for it, again not knowing what I was doing. I had to disable it and all prp patches to mods during the battle for GNN Plaza but was able to reenable everything afterwards. Disabling Scrap Everything did not fix the graphics issues during the battle. Once I complete SS2 Chap 2 and the main Sole Survivor Quest line I am going to start a new playthrough without it. I will also test to see if it is affecting the Memory Lounger and let you know.

Okay. You were right about NAC X. No trouble completing the quest with it disabled. Going to try saving and reenabling it to continue play. May regret it lol but I have the save from right before testing.

The real culprit may be ENB, which NAC requires. That can cause graphics issues. I will point out that if you want a scrap everything type functionality - at least in terms of scrapping grass, trash, and shrubs, there's this - which plays nice with SS2 and most other things in a way that scrap everything does not because it does not break precombines. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/58757

Re: NAC X, can you give me more details please? I'm seeing this mentioned enough that I want to investigate. Are you using particular settings - if so, which ones? Can you please provide links to what one you use, did you also use the optional ENB file?

The more information we can have, the easier it will be to identify potential conflicts.

Nice. Will switch to it for new play through. I only originally used SE for the Sanctuary Repaired Roofs mod since I had not discovered the Rebuild series by Aurelianis. But then I started using it everywhere so can't remove it at this point. Won't start a new play through until I at the very least I complete How T o HQ.

When I installed ENB, I only installed the two .dlls none of the other files in the package

I use the following mods for ENB
Reactor https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/57321?tab=files
ENB Helper https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/56566

I use this NAC X but not the ENB presets:
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/46722?tab=files
I use the default settings except I had RadStorms turned off.

One thing I noticed, the mod page says NAC X should be low or last in my load order. Loot has NAC.esp 64 plugins higher. NAC-NW.esp and NAC-FH.esp
are 50 slots lower.

Great, I'll have a look when I next get a chance. Thanks!

It looks like I need to be using the NACX-ENB presets. Will do that and check the memory lounger issue again.

This is interesting. I installed the NACX-ENB presets and several things happened. I can use the memory lounger simulation just fine. The interior colors do not appear to be oversaturated/overly bright. Faces and clothing no longer have plastic sheen when raining. So, it looks like that preset mod is mandatory for NAC-X and ENB

Unfortunately, it did not solve the original issue of the game freezing when using the lounger for the first time during the quest.
