Re Taking Quincy

It always felt like such a missed opportunity not to re take Quincy in the vanilla game not just as a personal quest for Preston but as a massive middle finger to the Gunners

I always kinda hoped this could be a thing in SS2
 
It could be a thing. There is potential, for example, for a gunner civil war, with Algernon helping us take it from the "bad gunners". Since they probably need a place to reside, and the fabled gunner fort (that used to not be a gunner fort) this close to HQ is a threat. It would make for a nice place for a big battle (hopefully not spoiling stuff I don't know myself lol). But who knows, maybe it's completely outside the scope of chapter 3 and there are a few Quincy mods that would become incompatible should this be the case.

SS2's questline is more meant to be about its own separate faction - it just happens to line up the most with the Minutemen of the 'base game' factions.
And the fact is, there's already so many other mods (including a Creation Club item, although that one's garbage) that already do that...

I agree, but lets say you asked Preston and the MM for help with retaking the HQ. Wouldn't it be fair that you helped the MM back if they asked for
help (doesn't have to be Preston) if it's made as an optional side quest (that you can turn down)?
 
I'm pretty sure Kinggath said there are no plans to use the Quincy location. It would be up to a 3rd party mod author to create this.
I would like to see a mod like this. Its a shame Beth didn't have taking Quincy as part of the Minuteman quest line.
