Plot Sizes

I absolutely love sim settlements. It has reignited my passion for Fallout 4 again. I am quite keen to try my hand at creating some plots myself. This led me to a question though - are there any plans to allow for bigger plot sizes like a 4x4 plot?

I can't speak for kinggath but it seems that in the future there will be (this or something similar).

I will definitely add the plot models and support for larger plots, so that you guys doing add-ons can make use of them. I have no timeline though.

One of my concerns is that adding too many plot sizes at once will be confusing and of limited use to the players. For example, let's say I added 4 new plot sizes (3x3, 3x2, 4x4, 4x3), there are currently 7 plot types, so that's 28 new options. More than likely, we'd end up with one or two people adding content to each, so then we end up with situations where a plot type has only a single building plan ever available for it - which as a player, I'd be pretty unhappy about.

Doing the slow roll-out ensures we're all providing content for the same plot sizes so that player's have access to a reasonable amount of content for each.

The 2x2 variation of the Martial plot was my first test run in offering a plot size that I had no content for, and so far, it's getting minimal attention - so I'm being very cautious about a wide rollout of new plot sizes.

4x4 is actually pretty big when you get to the nitty gritty.... how much space does a settler need anyway? They already get enough... spoiled brats.... telling me I need to work to eat... I am the one! I saved you all!

The larger sizes will make more sense once we have multi-owner plots.

On the other hand, I use the heck out of the two plots we do have for the 2x2 martial, the addon authors may not be making content but it's not that there's no demand for it. The gatehouse in particular is very useful and the outposts get used near spawn points in lieu of multiple 1x1 martials to bring the additional forces closer to the action.

I absolutely use the 1x1 martial plots too so they both have a special place in my settlements.

Thanks for the replies.

I am really looking forward to seeing the future development. I never thought it would be as good as it is when I first installed it and the additional content has been awesome. So a huge thanks to Kinggath and all of the other guys that created the add-on packs

As general opinion I'd like to suggest that first we should have a very large base of 2x2 plots and then start to increase the sizes (when the 2x2 horizon will be full, the builders will search something bigger to do).

Consider also that making a 2x2 house for 2 people is a bit difficult (not impossible), but if a 3x3 plot is available no one will build the 2x2 for multiple Npcs.

Anyway: I don't think is a good idea do "non-square" plot (like 3x2, 4x3 etc.)
It could be better do a 3x3, 4x4, etc. and create some big "RandomClutter": so today you see the yard full of old cars, tomorrow Robots parts, then Wood, again car... and so on.

The best part is that is all already doable.

Personally, I would like future bigger plots to go along with the current sizes. 2x4, 4x4, etc.. That would keep fitting plots together in settlements easier, rather than 3x3, 3x2, 5x_ etc...
