Solved PC Console Command to Prevent Danse from Attacking Me During a Vassal Assault

Under the current version of Conqueror, the problem of Danse attacking me has now occurred at Sanctuary, Abernathy and Starlight. This did not occur in the previous version of Conqueror which was my Game 4. I assume Danse is attacking me, because either (1) I have hit a settler/civilian or (b) in the new Conqueror version some of the settlers/civilians joined the defenders during the vassal assault.

Is there a console command that will prevent or stop my companion (Danse in this case) from attacking me, during a vassal assault?

Thanks

This is why I suggested a mod yesterday.

You can use a console command to turn him back to neutral, but since you are still in combat with neutrals it aint gonna do a lot of good.

You could use console commands to set Danse to think those factions are hostile, but well we know that aint really gonna work either, lol.

There might be a console command to change his flagging though, so not totally sure. Changing the flagging as in using Strong has no consequences for killing innocents.

I think finding a mod that changes the behavior flags would maybe be the quickest?

Thanks, but this may require a level of fine tuning that is not immediately available. One of Danse's "hates" is murdering the innocent, however, the following occurred on my Starlight assault test case:
  1. Prior to the assault, using the console command 0005de4d.getav CA_affinity, Danse's affinity was 999.
  2. Started the assault and numerous settlers/civilians were immediately "red" and started shooting at me, Danse and the BoS; and in theory no longer innocent.
  3. Danse returned fire for several seconds and then the "Send to" message box appeared.
  4. Again checked Danse's affinity and it was now 964.
  5. Confirmed and sent Danse to Sanctuary and the assault proceeded as normal.
  6. Replayed and when the "Send to" message appeared, I cancelled.
  7. Danse immediately started shooting me.
  8. Again checked Danse's affinity and it was 964.
I have searched the internet and Nexus/Bethesda for mods or console commands, but the only relevant ones I found adjusted the companion's affinity. I did not find any that would change the companion's behavioral response to the players actions.

If I missed something, any assistance is appreciated.

Bleh. Yeah I looked through all mods on Nexus with the Danse flag and there aint any to adjust the behavior.

There has to be some sort of flag or something somewhere, and if there is a flag it should have a on/off setting.

You would think someone would have found a way to change that flag for using any BoA Faction packs.

At the moment, the three options for dealing with this are:
1. Because this behavior did not occur on the prior version, Kinggath et al looks into/corrects the settlers turning hostile in a future version. However, I do like the option of having some of the settlers join the defenders, so I plan to include this in a suggestion.
2. There is some mod or console command that you and I have not found that "pops up."
3. Leave Danse at home.

Changing Aliases is not simple at all, it is so easy to cause hostility with another faction just by changing the relationship with one.
No chance it can be done by a command.

Bleh. Programming like that is basically over thinking.

It should have a been a simple like or dislike killing innocents and then another flag for the various factions to consider them innocents or not.

3. Leave Danse at home.
Considering it is a BOS faction play through that really aint much of an option.

Amazing follower tweaks is a mod I used to change the likes and dislikes if followers. Though I haven't played the most recent update to conqueror, so not sure if things still work.

At Sunshine, after having Danse "stay" on the dam roadway, I sniped a Gunner and immediately the 3 observed civilians went red. Went back shortly after and sniped another Gunner and the 2 observed civilians went red. I did observe the Sunshine flag was the Gunner flag. Whether this is intentional or not, this approach works for me. Adds another dimension to the Conqueror/Liberator game play. Danse did not respond in both cases. Next, I will shoot the "red" civilians and see what happens.

For my next vassal assault, I will find a convenient out-of-sight spot and have Danse "stay."

Thanks again to KG and the team.

At Sunshine, with Danse at "stay", went back and sniped 2 Gunners which turned 4 civilians "red" and then ran back and changed Danse to "follow." He charged forward shooting the civilians, we eliminated the 4 civilians and then became allied with the settlement.

I will continue to test and find, hopefully, a satisfactory work-around to the Danse shoots me situation.

Toggle his AI off.

Console Commands
"TAI" (General AI)
"TCAI" (Combat AI)
Click on character. Type both commands. Repeat process to re-enable.

Literally disables him. Like, he doesn't even move. I do that to all my bleeding hearts (multiple followers mod) before I hit a settlement. I still physically leave them at a settlement away from the raid.

Disable them at Sanctuary. They become statues and stay there until you come back. As long as they stay disabled until after you finish the assault, you should have no issues. You might be able to get away with just "TAI" and still have them follow you around and shoot things, but I haven't tried that.

steer very far away from AFT. That mod is so broken and unsupported that it's simply asking for trouble to use it these days.

This ^^^^^^

It hijacks the vanilla companion system and alters the scripts for it. It literally breaks the vanilla system...
