Patch 3.1.1 is available now!

Requires an update to Sim Settlements and Rise of the Commonwealth

- Re-optimizes core parts of the mod, making it faster, more stable, and should eliminate SS scripting from being the cause of game crashes.

- Adds support for Salvage Beacons to send things as donations.

*Looks at the full patch notes* Wow. Congrats king Gath on squashing a lot of bugs with this release. If my experience in 3.1.0a is the baseline, I'm definitely downloading this ASAP to further stabilize my game. Thank you for always thinking of those in the lower end systems.

Just finished installing. For some reason I no longer have the "Sim Settlements successfully updated to [insert version here]" popup (started since the beta 3.1.0). I thought the popup just weren't there because I had the beta version but I don't have the notification on this official release either. Everything else seem to work just fine, though.

Try manual install , that worked fine for me

I'm having a problem since updating: in settlements where I had already donated enough to the armory to get a bonus defense, making a donation to donation box takes away the bonus defense. Tested with three characters and two different xboxes. In one case, my red rocket settlement had just one settler, just one regular machine gun turret, and armory rating of 12. Total defense when starting up after update is 8. Once I make a donation to the box, defense drops to 5. On another character, Sanctuary had 9 settlers and a total defense of 41, 27 of this was coming from the armory. Made a donation after starting the game after the update, and defense dropped immediately after to 14. Anyone else seeing this?

I did whenever I upgrade to an official release. I remove the mod in MOD ORGANIZER and install the new download. I don't mess with the actual data folder of my Fallout.

Hurrah! I use Amazing Follower Tweaks where you can recruit NPCs to be followers. Does that mean I can make "recruited" NPCs leaders to build a settlement or is it just hardcoded for specific followers currently?

3DNPC/Tales of the Commonwealth has some great followers they added too.

When I first started my game I had both update options available for SS and Rotc thru the game menu. After SS updated, ROTC was no longer available as an update or was it in my list of mods. I then tried to install ROTC and I get “the operation could not be completed “?

When I start the game I get;
This save relies on content that is no longer
present. Some objects may no longer be
available. Continue loading?

SimSettlements_XPAC_RiseOfTheCommonwealth.esp

Looks like the update is corrupt through the load menu

Unfortunately I am in the process of moving today and I won’t have time to look at this any further. I did not load the game after the partial update in fear of losing all my progress since this being the second character I started due to previous issues with ROTC.

I can confirm the problem. 40ksmything is correct, there's a problem with the ROTC side of the update on Bethesda mod servers. Looks like Bethesda mod servers screwed up the processing of the update of ROTC.:

Fallout 4 "deletes" ROTC after updating Sim Settlements and creates an "operation could not be completed" error with ROTC while trying to re-download it. It even threw an Bethesda "server error" at me after I updated Sim Settlements, in which I had to restart the game, as it wouldn't let me log back in. Afterwards ROTC was missing from my library. Tried re-downloading Sim Settlements, but ROTC will still not download.

XBox? Worked fine for me.

I'm on xbox, had trouble logging into bethesda at first. I didn't know there was an update, I was just looking at a few things. After I was able to log on I updated rotc first, then ss, then salvage beacons and I had no issues.

I have the PC version too.

Just uninstalled Sim Settlements and tried to download ROTC on its own. Still fails with the same error message.

Therefore, I can confirm the PC version of the updated ROTC on Bethesda's servers has a problem that prevents it from being downloaded.

FYI, Salvage Beacons updated with no problems.

yes bethesda.net ROTC is bugged he remove from your data folder you need to manual install for now from nexus.

I've noticed it not always popping up.. but it can also be because the thing loads so fast and you just don't get to see it.
You really should learn how to manually install mods.... its' good to know how and can fix a lot of problems. ;) Mod organizers reliability at best sucks. LOL

Had to reinstall skyrim almost every month back in the day because I used to exclusively install every mod manually. All it takes is for one wrong overwrite, or mis click or mistype or anything really and something could go horribly wrong with your install. I got my compulsive habit of saving (saving before every other fast travel) from those hellish days when I haven't discovered mod organizer yet. In my slow computer, it takes almost three to six hours to reinstall skyrim.

I learned my lesson when I moved on to fallout. Never again will I install by hand. Mod organizer may be finicky at times (crash and error prone) but it preserves my mods, load orders and saves. Just back up mods and profile folder and reinstall if anything goes wrong. No need to bother the actual fallout 4 install directory.

I had no problems updating Sim Settlements, IR and ROTC to 3.1.1 from the nexus with NMM. Everything is the latest version and nothing is missing from the Data folder.

I have certainly had fewer crashes and trouble entering settlements using the 3.0.1a than I had since long before RotC. I think Kinggath fixed some core Bethesda issues with this.

Unfortunately, he can't modify the engine (which is where I think my problems lie). Imagine if he were a dev on Fallout 5. Oh, the stuff we could build.
