Please update Workshop Framework to 2.0.9 as well!

To view this content we will need your consent to set third party cookies.
For more detailed information, see our cookies page.

  • Added Involvement setting to allow City Plan run settlements to use simplified rulesets.
  • Added Junk Storage Requires Defense setting, which allows you to turn off the defense requirement of Junk Storage. More importantly than you turning off this balance feature though, is the fact that it will be turned off automatically in settlements that use City Plans - this should greatly reduce the defenses needed for City Plan designers who might not allow themselves access to Advanced/Hi-Tech Martial buildings.
  • Several under-the-hood changes to City Plan and Plot code to help improve responsiveness.
  • And loads more!
Full patch notes available here: https://wiki.simsettlements2.com/en/getting-started/patch-notes

One final note - I've finally identified some issues with HUDFramework that are causing the HUD to seem to get stuck for some of you on a regular basis. As a stopgap solution, I've added a "Reset HUD Widgets" tool to Workshop Framework 2.0.9. I've reached out to the creator to get more information on what I'm seeing, so hopefully I can permanently resolve this in the future.

Can’t install on Xbox and trying to upgrade removes.

Same here, downloaded the upgrade and it removed the mod, reinstalling gets to 100% then says the operation could not be completed.
Just had the same problem and came here to find out if it was just me. Mine's on the PC.

If you're getting the patch off Bethesda net wait several hours. The same thing happened to me 2 patches ago. It cleared up the next day and I was able to get the correct version downloaded.

That is indeed where I got it - thank you! :)

Any idea why it would do that?!

This is a common problem with Bethesda's servers. They show Update Available before the file is actually ready to be downloaded, but they delete the old file. So then there can be several hours where no one can download the mod.

Thanks for the explanation, kinggath!

And truly, thank you for all your hard work. I always wanted to play Sim Settlements but had an old PC that could barely handle vanilla Fallout 4. Got a new PC in October two weeks before Sim Settlements 2 and it's been a sheer delight.

Completely agree, I'm new to fallout 4 and so far I've spent more time in game playing around with SS2 than I've spent playing through the main game

Hey, just finished watching the video and you mentioned an update to the Wasteland Reconstruction Kit, but I don't think the latest version is up on Nexus yet: the last one available is from Jan 12.

If anyone happens to find it becomes available on Xbox and wanted to let people know that would be cool.

Oops! Completely forgot to upload that. Just handled it now.

Reading through the wsfw notes
1 sirens will now be off instead of on when initialized by city plan.

thank god I remember on ss1 doing some city plans and my head would be killing me trying to track down all the sirens. This patch has a lot of quality of life things I’ve wanted for a while.

Almost every time I do a mod update the game breaks.
This time I can't get past the "Please stand by" screen crashes to desktop.
I only have mods for Sim settlements 2.

Did you update workshop framework and any other ss2 mods I found today that a bunch of mine needed updating.

We were having a discussion on the Patreon discord last night about how Vortex can end up causing this sometimes as it can cause load order changes if you update by doing uninstall/reinstall instead of just using the update feature of Vortex.

Not sure if that applies to you, but worth mentioning.

Fortunately, on PC you have 2 options - Fallrim Tools can export your load order from your save so that you can fix it if that's the issue, if that's not it - you can always go download previous versions of mods from Nexus. I make sure to leave every single version up so people can always roll back if something doesn't play nice with their save files.

While Fallout 4 is very good about mid-save mod upgrades, some saves are a little more sensitive than others and you may end up stuck on a version with that character for the long haul.

If you're on Xbox, well no options unfortunately. Bethesda doesn't really provide us any path to deal with this sort of situation.

I'm on PC, I only add mods from the mod menu in game, but I can't get into the game menu. I've uninstalled and re installed I still can't get any further than the "Please stand by" screen for about 5 seconds and the game closes. I'm hunting for all files and folders to delete. and reinstall.
