Bug Overseer disappears after building the settlement

The overseer disappears when ever I build the settlement. Tried 3 times and she disappeared every time. I had to finish her quest line otherwise the quests would break cause there was no way to interact with her. After finishing the quest line I convinced her to join the settlement which she did. But shortly after I started the settlement build *made Clem the mayor) she disappeared shortly after words.

Also is there a way to fix the vault power without having to run conduits all over the front area and to the back to power the back area? I know I did it before but can not remember how I did it.

well I never did, you can persuade her to stay? I didn't know that.
if I am remembering rightly, I built a vault tec reactor to power up the water plant down the tunnels, that gave them water and power I think.
all I did then was place the white square power things, on the vault walls where I needed them, and hey presto!
as Todd Howard said " it just works "

The vault walls there should automatically transfer power. Just pop one of those power connectors onto a vault wall(you might need to build one connected to the rest to get a proper snap point). Then you can connect conventional power lines to that connector, or let it run through vault walls.

You have to have the Overseers desk built as she is tied directly to it.
I don't know for sure... but you "might" be able to start the plan and very quickly build another Overseers desk and she "might" reassign and stay.
But, yes, you have to complete her quest line then pass the speech challenge to get her stay.

I know the walls carry power but I am talking about the front area *where you enter and there are those things that go BONG when you walk by them). For some reason you can not attach anything to the walls or ceilings. I want to be able to place stuff in the front and be able to power them. Also the existing reactor the one in the reactor room is suppose to be suppling power to the entire vault but it is not. After a few checks the power is not going through the ramp section that leads down to the first main chamber.

oh, i only ever placed 10mm turrets there. sorry I don't know how to power that area.
i just scrapped the broken reactors and built a new one to power the water pump thing, so I'm no help at all. sorry.

I mostly ignore Vault 88 now, but I do remember just using the regular, non-DLC connectors to power that front section. The ceiling-mounted ones seem to work particularly well.

I agree about the vanilla ceiling connectors, I have used them in several situations. once cabled they even power passive units. how, is a mystery.

Ahh ok. For the entrance area you have to run some wires or conduits. Various mods add longer radiant range power connectors, or modify vanilla ones. Makes it easier to power everything there.

The reactor definitely should work. But it can be a bit problematic to get it to properly power through existing vault pieces to new vault pieces as far as I remember. Maybe one of the mods I am running fixes it though, as I have not experienced it in a long time(Vault-tec Workshop Overhaul maybe).

Here's TS blueprint that add conduit from the reactor to the front entrance and down to the water purifier.
3 connections and you're done.
Oh, there's 12 drops in the main chamber.
Requires Contraptions Workshop.
