NMM not opening, should I move to Vortex?

I'm wondering how nice it plays with Sim Settlements. Alternatively, does anyone know a solution for NMM not opening? Should I just reinstall NMM? And if I do that what does that do for the mods I already got installed?

I am in the middle of migrating.

I think it's gonna be really nice once I figure it all out, but I am not finding the interface intuitive.

Re-installing NMM is usually fairly painless. if it asks to re-install your mods, say yes.

(BTW: Tell Agatha I said hey. She still owes me an ale from that time in Mechanicsburg.)

NMM has few issues. Vortex should play better with Sim Settlements, because it is not leaving files out of the folder over bugs.

There might be plenty of reasons for NMM not opening. Silent block from permission issues, broken installation etc. If you wish to remain with NMM, then make sure that your security applications are not blocking it from running. Try to run NMM as administrator.

And tell her to get me out of the Castle. Time field isn't blocking it entirely and I am all out of beer. Plus, Castle is getting on my nerves, by pestering me to play Jägerchess with it all the time.

Damn, I really should continue reading that comic >.<

@Topic: IMO you should move to MO2. That thing about isolating mods in their own folder and than making a virtual FS for the game is pretty neat. You never actually overwrite any files, and uninstalling or just disabling a mod will definitely not leave anything behind.

Vortex is doing something like that as well. Instead of overwriting, it allows you to make rules as to how two or more mods play with each other. Once I got the hang of it, I was really pleased.

Oh, and it looks like the rules will be really easy to tweak as well.

My computer crashed once and on reload NMM would not start. Did not find out anything online other than this is some kind of bug. The solution was to copy the NMM installation to a new directory and launch it. It will go through the initial setup, but all mods and load order will be in tack.

I had to go to a few tutorials, but now that I have grasped the peculiarities of the interface, I really like Vortex.

Conflict management is very flexible. Updating is kinda elegant.
