New to Sim settlements, Addon questions

First off, new to using mods in fallout. just have some questions on addons.
1)Do most addons made play well with each other? asking because the addon list feels overwhelming to me. (I know more addons are coming in the future)
2)Based on the previous question, how should I go about picking addons or just get them all? (How do I know which ones are redundant)
3)any general tips for someone new to sim settlements in general?

Thank for taking the time to read this.

Most Addons just add more 'designs' to the menus for each of the Plot Types, there SHOULDN'T ever be any kind of conflict except for in the exceedingly rare case of two addon makers using identical file/script names internally. (and I wouldnt be surprised if kinggath even allowed for that)
I'm using most of them right now myself and not having any real issues, except for the 'manual design selection' menu for 2x2 Residential Plots getting pretty dang long. Generally, the Addon Pack Makers list what their addon actually adds on the Nexus Page so you can see like "ok this one mostly adds new shops" or "this one focuses on the 1x1 size" kind of thing and choose from that.

Biggest tip in general, though: Patience. Since SimSettlements is doing pretty much everything by scripts, you HAVE to be prepared to wait and let it finish what it's doing quite regularly.

A quick tip is that scripts will run in the background while you have the Pip-Boy menu up. They won't if the game is on the pause menu. So if you need for scripts to catch up, pulling up the menu and browsing a bit will let the game catch up to where its supposed to be - it also autosaves if you have that enabled which is just a good thing in general with FO4 because even before being modded it isn't always the most stable experience.

FO4 because even before being modded it isn't always the most stable experience.
:todd: The golden rule: Save Often! and save before starting each SS2 quest for extra insurance. I can't tell you how much settlement building I've lost by not following this.

As to the addons, when you load an addon for the first time, the data is 'registered' with SS2 and basically becomes part of the ss2 data files. Load as many as you want.
