Suggestion New Faction Type + New Faction (for conqueror)

New Faction Type- Religious Zealots.
Objectives- Spread Religious Ideology throughout the Commonwealth. Eliminate evils determined by the religion. Achieve a closer connection to the almighty/god/heaven

Differences to other faction types- Religious Zealots only care about their religion and nothing else. They spread their religion either by force or support depending on the players choice. Game play differences would be less about materialistic things. The more important thing would be about gaining more followers of the religion. There could be some kind of mechanic where having more "believers" will buff the faction even more.

New Faction- I dont have any idea for a name. Imagine a religion built off of American propaganda. the Gods for the religion could be George Washington and the rest of the Founding Fathers. The "evil" for the religion could also be commies, with no real definition of what a commie is. Therefor any hostile for the faction would be called communist regardless.
 
The best chance of this becoming a reality is if you try making it yourself, by using the detailed tutorials Kinggath has provided here. Most of the steps are very easy to follow, even for a beginner modder. The decorations and any custom assets you might want to include would be a bit more difficult but not by any means impossible. Lots of tutorials online!
 
I think he might have been suggesting this after my stream, where I recommend folks who have ideas for new alternate rulesets post the details in the suggestions.

Eventually, I think we'll find that Conqueror/Liberator don't cover the way all faction types might play out - so I'll start exploring other rulesets.
 
I've suggested before adding more religious types (including the non-zealot sort) but it didn't seem too many people were interested. There are the (in)famous fallout religions like the Atom cult and the hubologists, but real-world religions do (occasionally) appear or get mention in fallout games, so, well, they do still exist even if they aren't common anymore.
Religions real and fictional are potentially interesting, because unlike the violence of conqueror, a religion can win people sometimes just with words. It might be interesting if settlers had a religion affiliation that could change on its own if there were religious settlers or "temples" in the settlement.
Not knowing anything about the technical side of modding, I know this might not be practical, but it would be interesting to represent that religion can get followers without violence.

It would be interesting to see this implemented now that I think about it, instead of forcing a settlement into submission or "liberating it" from hostile forces, a new faction type that use their silver tongue skills would be awesome, with charisma and speech, being able to talk them into joining you, I think you can't get more peaceful than that, and it would be a good option for other non-evil factions as well, because right now they're just glorified conquerors :P.

I think I'd always stick to the violence path, because its fun, but I can see people in the need of a feature like this for sure, not everyone likes to go on mass genocide in order to achieve their goals, might be fun for me, but as I said, opens a lot of doors for other types of players, which im totally up for, so +1 for something like this to happen.
 
Fallout 4 could really use some other-than-violence alternatives, without erasing of course the violence option. Many other fallouts had almost infamous non-violent solutions to major problems.
