The new Interior Plots are amazing.

I find myself having to TCL my way in to reassign a lot of them to avoid blocked doorways.

The descriptions once selected are great, but a simple, standardized set of suffixes or prefixes to the names, indicating where the entrances are could be helpful.

LE = Left End
RE = Right End
LF = Left Front
RF = Right Front

For that matter, a similar standard like OS to indicate oversized plots would be handy, too.

BE = Both Ends
FF = Full Front

What other possibilities are there? All should be describable in two characters.

I tried adding a (Sides) (LSide) (RSide) or (Front) (All) to my interior plots as a test to see if it works.... but I agree.... unfortunately, it adds a lot to the plot titles.

Well a full front one rarely is actually a full front one having stuff off to one side or another, even the descriptions Kingath wrote about them separates them into left right and front although I have seen a need for left and right front specification were one path able from the back plops a chair or a bed right in front of the door.

It should be do-able with two characters and a space or dash at the beginning of the plot name. What's the character limit for names?

BTW: I'd be happy to take a stab at this if you give me a list of plots and entrance points, and let me know the parameters I need to work within.

I can't code for squat, but I can organize the crap out of things.

The old char limit for titles was like 28 - 32 but that was mostly just so it didn't drop down a line on the plaque.... I haven't seen a plot name break the "choose a plan" box yet, so not sure 100%

I've had plots that would upgrade and block the main path into the room especially in the City Plans. You look at it at level 1 and you're "This looks nice" then it upgraded and there's a chair in the door. And even though the description says right or left and et cetera often there's this one thing in front of the entrance.

OK. Looking at the plot names. Now that the [XX] standard is well-established, the now-redundant "by soandso" part of the names could be eliminated, freeing up quite a few characters to play with.

Alternatively, replacing " by " with a single dash would free up the three characters needed.

Pitching in to this conversation, we're going to try this for our interior plots (that will be in our next update that is almost, almost done):

[WV] Captain Crash Chem Reliance (LELF) by Tinuvia
[WV] Captain Crash Chem Reliance (RERF) by Tinuvia
[WV] Pit Stop Goods (BECF) by Tinuvia
[WV] Abbot's Art Studio (BECF) by Tinuvia
[WV] For the love of Books (RELF) by Tinuvia
[WV] Couch Dreams (BERF) by Tinuvia
[WV] Tinkerer Digs (BEFF) by Tinuvia

On the basis of the plot's wall in front of you, the first two letters in the parenthesis would signify the entrances from the Ends - Left, Right or Both. The second two letters are about the entrances from the Front - Left, Right, Centre or Full. I hope this makes sense and helps. Should the community or the other addon makers come up with another configuration, we can change it easily.

@Tinuvia : This is one of the reasons my settlements tend to be chock-full of your plots.

(The other one is because they're darn cool.)

@WetRats Wouldn't have thought about adding the abbreviations to the building names if it wasn't for your initial post up there - so it's all thanks to you, really :)

Well, yay Team Us then!
