Are modded (non vanilla settlements) compatible with sim settlements?

The short answer is, it depends on the settlement in question. Most of the ones I've tried are, but a few haven't been.

It's mostly been ones that add new "interior" settlements like new Vaults that I've had trouble with.
And even then, sometimes they "work" as in you can build plots and stuff there, they just don't auto-connect to the new "virtual caravan network" thing.

Breakheart Banks is good. Roadside pines motel is good. Roadside Shack is good. Boston Commons is good. The Red Rockets are good. I haven't tried any Quincy ones.
