Missing Museum Item Fix

If you downloaded 2.0.4 and the starting items are missing from the museum or other locations, you'll need to do the following:

Again ONLY if you started a new game with 2.0.4 OR you haven't built any Sim Settlements plots yet in this save:

1. Disable the mod, then load and save your game without it - this will erase the mod from your save.
2. Download the latest version (2.0.4a), then enable it and load the save you just created.

There was a bug in 2.0.4 that despawned all of the starting items and the only way to get them to spawn again is to load the mod clean, which those steps will do.

Apologies for the inconvenience. One of the fixes I implemented to reduce left behind items, was incorrectly applied to those objects as well.

I did the fix listed above and still there is nothing. I've not had this problem before. Could it be my load order?

I just turned and faced away from the desk waited for the camera to start spinning and everything just appeared lol

Same is happening to me, PC Master Race game version 1.10.20, F4SE 0.05.00, Sim Settlements 2.0.7a installed via NexusMod.

This is a game reinstall after HDD failure, on a new save (have not tried my older saved games), but there is no holotape or sensors at the museum. I tried the fix from the first post and nothing. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the mod a few times, nothing.

Uninstalled
Manual installed per provided instructions. I could see a few new files added that NMM seemed to not copy over.
Made sure it was not activated in NMM
Open the game. Told me that Sim Settlements was missing.
Hit yes and start the game
Saved the game
Activated the mod in NMM
Back in the game, still no holotape/sensors

Just loaded an older save, Sim Settlements is working...right-ish. I think I may be missing a few add ons. None of the farms/homes/defenses were missing from this particular settlement. I think it may be a problem with this new game I started. I'll start another fresh one and see what happens.

@EnnisGamingCrew I just had to re-upload on nexusmods.com to fix that. I didn't think the same issue should be on Xbox, but I'll check now and update it if I can replicate - otherwise I'll try and help you troubleshoot.

@EnnisGamingCrew Just tested successfully on my Xbox. Can you check if it shows there's another update? If so, download it. Otherwise, try disabling the mod, load and save your game (anywhere but inside the museum). Then reenable it and try again.

So I did the manual install as I found only the .esm was installed by NMM, did a clean save with all mods off, enabled SS and tried again. Computer, holotape, sensors never appear. I did the force spawn via the player.additem for the holotape and tried to load the tape. The holotape will only load the first "Initializing" screen with OK on the bottom, click OK and the screen just reloads the same initialization dialogue endlessly.

Now the holotape works, but I do not have anything in my settlement menu to correlate to the Mod...

@Shane83zx Try disabling HUDFramework temporarily and see if the tape will get past the init screen. If it does, you can re-enable HUDFramework after the fact and everything should work.

Holotape works, but now there isn't anything in the settlement menu to build plots and holding V often results in controls going wonky.

The fact that the stuff didn't spawn in the museum makes me think something else is going on for you anyway.

Two things worth trying: test on another character, and temporarily (without overwriting your save) see what happens when your other mods are unchecked from the load order tab. The results of those two tests will help figure out what the problem is.

I'm having the same issue on my game with 2.1.5 and when I updated and loaded my old game that I'd used an older version and everything disappeared in that game.

@AzuraAzelle Sounds like part of the mod was removed. Can you check in the game's Mods-> Load Order screen that everything related to Sim Settlements is still there and has a check mark next to it?

Hey kinggath, I’m having troubles with the mod. I’ve done everything you have said so far in this reply yet I still don’t have the holotape popping up. I’ve downloaded this mod through Fallout’s in game mod option and I’m playing on PC. I’m not sure on what to do to try and fix it.
