Question Martial Plot & Hydro Farm Not Advancing

Hello,

I choose to have manual upgrades while RoTC gets squared away. The hydro-farm only opens a blank container and refuses to move forward with its one tech line upgrade. I also have a martial plot (robot) that has an upgrade ready but it refuses. I then chose to allow auto-upgrades on those specific plots but they're still blinking as ready. I refreshed the plots too. Still ready but not moving forward.

Both plots are random selections by the RoTC.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I'm working on redoing both of those plots but it'll probably be a few weeks.

So, here's the reason:

originally both of those plots had a pre-req of various level 3 factories (domestic robots and civil defense). What I found out through bug reports is that while this worked fine for manual selection, the automatic selection system would still select the plots even though there were no valid building plans for them, leaving the player with a blank plot.

As a temporary work around to that particular issue I allow level 1 to happen no matter what, but levels 2 and 3 are still gated by the need for the level 3 factories.

My ultimate solution is to make each of those plots basically 2 plot lines (one side with normal stats for their plot type and no robots, the other side being my specialized ones with the functioning robots and the increased food/defense scores as originally intended). However I haven't gotten that completed yet, it's in the works but will be awhile (my modding time is more limited atm).

It didn't seem like a huge deal previously, then Rise landed and I ran into the same issue you're having, half my plots are my martial plots and as such they won't upgrade, so it moved the problem up on my priority list :P

Alternately you might just want to start the civil and hydro plots out of circulation by default and let people add them back into the rotation if they want them to be automatically built. I haven't yet seen Rise of the Commonwealth select a plot that was banned in the manager desk.

I want to avoid that solution, my method will allow the "always open" branch to be available from day one to resolve the original bug while still making the "restricted" branch to only be available when it's approrpriate without the clunky solution of a partial, non-upgrading plot.

You are of course free to ban the plot in Rise cities until I'm able to implement the solution so it won't be auto selected during the city build phase

Thanks mytigio. Downloaded the .9 and will let the settler do their business. For lvl 3 industry, do you mean lvl 3 anywhere in the Commonwealth or only at that particular settlement where the martial/hydro exist?

at the same settlement for now (similar to the level 4 farms). Once kinggath has the tech sharing system in place (not sure what form that'll take), then I'll evaluate how to utilize it or what tweaks are needed.

For the Civil Defense Station, it's the Civil Defense factory you need in the same settlement.

The hydro farm needs the General Atomics Domestic Robots factory to advanced.
