Mark I Beacons, how the &*(&^ do they work!?

I have a powered and occupied Caravan Services with Communications plot in The Castle. As seen in attachment below. But whenever I drop the beacon nearby (as close as South Boston Church and the interior of Gwinnet Brewery), it keep telling me there is no Caravan with Comms service! What did I do wrong????

Make sure your caravan plot is connected. Sometimes they like to disconnect and not reconnect. Most of the time a plot refresh will fix it.

Also, refresh that communications plot!
