Question Making a new leader from a unique NPC

I am trying to make Uncle Ken a potential leader of the settlement in which he is found after you do Mitch's quest. I started by modelling my attempt after Kessler in Ted's Leaders. When that did not work, I looked at Old Longfellow's leader card in Sim Settlements, and realized that I had missed adding some location information. I added it. When that failed, I read the tutorial and saw that Uncle Ken needed to be set to commandable, so I did that. He still is not showing up as an available leader. Please, someone help me.

Sorry, just saw this had gone unanswered. Did you get it to work? If not, have you asked for an invite to the Builder's Discord?
I see that you have the basics set up for the leader card, but are you using the creation kit (not just xEdit) to make the leader cards and have you done all the steps in the leader tutorial?
If so, since Uncle Ken is a unique npc and has the workshopnpc script, the easy things I can think of is 1) there's a problem with the hex conversion 2) you forgot to put the misc item leader card in your formlist. It could also be an issue of what Bethesda does with him in the quests he is involved in, if he is still in an alias he might not be considered available?
And while testing, you need to have encountered him for him to show up as a leader (but you probably know this).

It could be a problem with an alias. I think I did all of the other things correctly. I did not check on any aliases because I don't really understand those. I know we have to set them at various quest steps according to recipes I have followed, but why or how they work is something I never bothered to try to understand because I never needed to. I would not be surprised if Uncle Ken has some alias floating about him.

At any rate, I've given up on city plans and therefore have no need of mayors. But I thank you for your reply and I will keep it in mind if I ever regain interest in the project.

PS I used both the Creation Kit and FO4Edit to make the mod. I just prefer to display the details in FO4Edit because it makes it more clear what is or is not in the mod itself.

Good, good. If you do get back to it and get stuck, there should be people on the Builder’s discord who have dealt with aliases and quests for the leaders.
