Suggestion Limited Ammo Support

I really enjoy mods that limit NPC ammo. One of my favorites also limits the ammo for settlers and you have to visit the settlement after a raid to replenish settler ammo.

What would be cool, and sorry if this is already implemented, to be able to "donate" ammo, and have that automatically distribute to guards, settlers or both. Or just put the ammo in the settlement inventory and settlers will top off after a raid on their own. If you have an advanced industry producing ammo it could also be used for settlement ammo replenishment.

Just in case you didn't already know how the mod implemented this mechanic?

I think the OP wanted a way to give limited ammunition to settlers. And as far as I know, there is no way to do this in SS itself.

Donation system boosts defense rating of the city, doesn't really equip the settlers.

And industrial city has an ammo Depot (or whatever it's called) to make random ammunition.

I use Beth.ini configuration as part of a new game install. Sets graphics, etc. modifies my fallout4 and fallout4custom ini files.

There is a click box for "npcs use ammo". I tried it once......

But by the time I got to the concord police station, Danse was busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest with his bare knuckles against ghouls......

I stopped that ... there is a way to do it, just not on my bucket list of immersive things anymore.

The reason you do not give AI limited ammo is because they will use all of it on the first available target, no matter how likely they are to actually hit the target, or how much overkill the weapon will be against the target (wasting rockets on radroaches, etc.).

Of course, if you *want* there to be a whole lot of pointless bang-bang at the start of a fight, and when everyone runs out of ammo they all charge in to melee each other, that's another story...

Rites is almost got what I was thinking. I have a mod the limits all NPC ammo and makes NPC consume the ammo they have. It is nice to see body guards loot ammo which works well toward this mechanic. I was more looking toward something that would replenish settler ammo after a settlement was attacked. As it is, I have to go around and restock them. So I make sure as many of them as possible have a melee weapon for backup.

Seems more immersive to me, but it would be nice if they could restock themselves with available ammo in the settlement.

Automated realism....... More scripts working in background......

Pretty sure it can be done, but I find my Xbox can get bogged down with too many realism mods, so I have to shy away from the ones that don't pertain to the main character. Conqueror already adds a plot in which the dead bodies get stripped after an Outpost attack, I just play with the assumption that the settlement restocks their ammo supply from that and each settler will automatically buy ammo from the shops and traders. That's enough immersion for me.
