Fixed Level 3 Interior Residential Plot Disappearing

This is a Primary Bug Report. It is meant to help the Sim Settlements team with issues reported multiple times. Only staff should use this tag.
Thank you

So this just started for me yesterday, and affected Egret Tours (city plan) and Red Rocket (manual plots). Settlers were complaining about beds, but the HUD indicated no problem. The normal workshop stats indicated a bed shortage. ASAM highlighted nobody as homeless. In each case I found a plot where the placard indicated level 3 (I don't remember which plan, but they were different), but there was nothing there except the plot panel. A settler was assigned and the plot was powered. I refreshed the plot and everything looked fine, until about two seconds after the refresh was complete....then everything was removed from the plot and it was empty again.

In both cases, I tried multiple refreshes/reloading/restarting to no effect. Selecting a different plot plan seemed to stick, but of course was back to level 1.

I have a save on Dropbox where I am facing a plot that has this issue, but it says I'm not allowed to post a link.

which plot is it (per the plaque in the ASAM menu on the fuse box or plot floor)?

If it's an addon plot, may be that the author did something interesting to the plot and left the actual level 3 as a build stage instead of a level stop.

It looks like all of the plots...I haven't seen a pattern. So far only residential plots where the placard indicates level 3. Of course, not all of them; it seems completely random. No residential add-ons (IDEK is the only addon), just the official Sim Settlements mods.

I've PM'd you a workaround because it sounds like you got sideswiped by something really weird. If changing plot type fixes it, then this will get you moving again.

01 March 2018, 11:10PM occasionally when a Residential Plots - Interior reaches level 3 it will have no furniture or decorations. I tried to fix this by using the "refresh plot" option, this appears to fix the issue and furniture and decorations will start to appear UNTIL it is completed, then it will all disappear again.

I have seen this happen with the priorities and basic bedroom plans.

03 March 2018, 9:31PM Does this happen in all your settlements, or just some (and which ones).
Thank you

04 March 2018, 1:15AM So far I have seen it happen at Red rocket truck stop, Tenpins bluff and Abernathy farm.

Ok, this is a rare issue we have run into before. The fix for now is to pick it up and put it back down and change the plot type back to what it was. This will reset the plot to level 1. If that is a super big problem for you let me know in a PM. I am changing this to Duplicate and you can use this https://simsettlements.com/site/ind...earing-after-upgrade-refresh.4353/#post-32945 Level 3 Interior Residential Plot Disappearing in the future.
Thank you

Made an account to report on this bug. I've been playing with interior plots for a bit and gotten a few to level 3 by now. So far have gotten the bug twice: once with Tinuvia's Tinkerer Digs residential in Oberland and once with the base Death's Head Weaponry shop at the Castle.

Edit: Forgot to add that I'm using the most recent versions of the mod.

Unfortunately I started another thread before I saw this one but I am having the same issue.
The affected plots are "Dorm Life" and "Priorities" located in Sanctuary.

Copy from other post:
Having an issue with some interior home plots . Two of my plots that have upgraded to lvl 3 are invisible. They show occupied and that they are drawing 2 power when I hover the cursor over them. When I refresh the plot they build up to level 3 , then it all disappears. They are also not counting as beds any longer as well. The plots are "Dorm Life" and "Priorities" and are in Sanctuary. Any help would be appreciated!

I apologize I noticed another thread when I posted this , I don't know how to delete this and add my info to the other.

See, I'm not sure if this is the right thread to be posting this in - but literally all of my plots have vanished. I've got Sim Settlements, plus the megapack, plus IDEK's logistics stations, and every plot from every mod is empty - except for the outer walls. The wasteland is suddenly filled with doorless, interior-less houses and settlers whining about the 'bed situation'. I've tried refreshing, both hitting with the Breaker Breaker and Refreshing from the holotape - but nothing's doing. It was fine before 3.1.6/3.1.6a. Is the same thing happening to me, as to others elsewhere?

I'm encountering the same problem as people here. Well this sucks. Well now i dunno what to do. I'm getting have settler happiness plummeting left and right if i play.

There was a bug in Sim Settlements since 3.0 that I just figured out how to fix. It requires most plots to be refreshed. As Felicity figured out, letting your settlement catch up should let the latest patch do its magic. If you want to ensure it's doing its thing, run the Refresh Local Plots.

Also, for those of you on PC - be sure you did a manual update to 3.1.6a - NMM is notorious for failing to update the script archive.

Sitting around in the settlement worked for every settlement except Sunshine Tidings Co-op. I tried destroying it and restarting, and that worked for level 0, but level 1 is dead again. New plots placed work fine, but the old ones do not, even with repeated refreshing. For now I just tossed down a bunch of sleeping bags.

Oh, huh, so it's not just me having issues with Sunshine. Good to know. I did the same thing, and turned the player home building into a flophouse. :)

I have a save set up specifically for troubleshooting, and another computer I haven't updated to 3.1.6 yet, so I was going to try loading that save from the prior version and seeing if I could make Sunshine go, then seeing if the changes would stick on my normal PC. This might be a terrible idea, but I'm feeling adventurous and I have another save in case this breaks everything. :)

Followup: Rolling back fixed everything, and let me refresh the plots and get all my stuff back, but loading back into 3.1.6 made it all go away again. It makes me wonder if the auto-launch of the graphics option script has anything to do with the bug?

At any rate, I'm sticking with 3.1.5a until the team sorts it out. No biggie.

Can you describe exactly the issue you were having? The only known 3.1.6 bug is a problem with the donations.

I'm also getting this problem on interior residential and commercial plots. I refresh them and they fix for a moment, then immediately reset to being empty but still show as occupied; however, it appears that the lack of a bed on the plot counts against the bed count for the settlement. I've even scrapped the plots entirely and rebuilt them, and it continues to happen for those plots.

This, along with interior plots doubling their displayed assets at strange angles and clipping outside their boundaries, has made it a pill to use them. I build interior plots almost exclusively, as the 2x2 are simply too space-inefficient for my tastes.

Is there a limit on the number of plots the mod can manage in a single settlement? This happens mainly in Sanctuary, where I have about 18 settlers.

This problem is definitely fixed in the current update. Try doing a manual install to ensure your files were updated. If particular plots are acting up, try replacing them.

I replaced a lot, and it worked. However, when I first encountered this, I reset the city. When it was at L0, every plot worked. When it updated to L1, nothing would spawn. It's only Sunshine Tidings, though. The other cities are fine. I use mod organizer 2, so I don't think it's a problem with files not updating though I can try a manual installation.

I'm going to try assigning a different leader as well. I'm using a leader from Recruitable Settlers.

What's really odd, at least to me, is as long as I don't go to the city, everything is fine. They're happy, the city is on its way to upgrade again, etc. It's only when I go there that there's an issue.
