Layer HUD not showing in workshop mode

Not really sure if it’s a bug or a mod conflict but my Layer HUD is intermittent to say the least. It shows up only when I enter a settlement or get out of power armor. If I enter workshop mode it disappears which kinda defeats the purpose lol. The only mods I think could be affecting it are Def_UI and Def_Inv maybe or the fact that I’m playing at 3440x1440 which gives problems with the interface in general. I used to use the mod Trueby9 and the mod creator had pretty much fixed all the issues with ultra wide support but that mod is out of date so I’m just going without.
 
Make sure your crosshair isn't hidden in the main game options, that's the biggest cause of HUDFramework modules to disappear.
 
The fact that it works when you are exiting power armor definitely sounds like the crosshair problem. Worth trying without immersive HUD to see if that fixes it, if not, try it on a different character, perhaps some settings are just wonky in your save file.

If that still doesn't work, send me a papyrus log- I might be able to identify some issues from that.
 
I have no HUD either. And I don't have Immersive HUD. Sim Settlements HUD was working, but just uninstalled it before installing WS+. Didn't change much else. Checking my Data in MO2 to see if I can find a difference.

Only thing that I notice is that Sim Settlements has the lib.swf file in the config folder while WS+ does not. But, I honestly have no idea what that file does.

Sometimes with SS I noticed the HUD would not come up until I left Sanctuary and then returned later. I will try this with WS+ and report back.

Ok, did not need to run to RR and back. When I logged back in, I thought I'd check again before running all over picking flowers so I could come back to SS and check again. Anyway, this time, when I used the Aid Item to create a layer, the Layer HUD popped up. But, it was just a thin sliver on the right edge of my screen. I may have not even noticed it before. Used my hotkeys to put it where I want it. Now all is well.

I guess, maybe it would help to have it default to the center of the screen instead of the right edge. Just a thought.

If you need it I'm willing to be a tester for Ultrawide users. I don't think there are many of us but I can help with 3440 x 1440.
 
As far as I know, there's no way to detect ultrawide, so there's not much I can really do to help other than make the experience worse for everyone else. I'll nudge it over a bit more to the left so it's more visible for UW players, but I'd like to keep the default position in a reasonable spot for the majority.
 
I got it to work using Viral Gamer's method. I didn't even see the sliver so I just kept pressing the left hotkey and it crept it's way back onto the screen. I think it was showing up in power armor because I'm using power armor clean hud which is in 16:9 so it was showing up in the correct coordinates for that aspect ratio but when I went into workshop mode it was way off for 21:9. I think if you move it over maybe 3-4 clicks to the left it will be at least visible to ultra wide users and not be too intrusive for 16:9 players.
 
I use TruBy9 at 3440x1440 and have noticed the layer HUD briefly changing sizes when I exit build mode if it isn't hidden. I just moved it to the left side of the screen right above the settlement HUD.
