Old Post Jammer and the Liberators

I wish to understand how he (Jammer) fits into a liberator play through. I am currently tying out Doogle63's Minutmen Conqueror faction pack and seeing many anomalies.

I have liberated 4 settlements and Jammer is still friendly and offering quests. Is that how it is supposed to be? I have even handed in some quests to him as I was killing those raider bosses anyway. The game is confused as to which faction I am playing. Hell I am confused as to which faction I am playing as Settlers treat me as a Raider, and the Minutemen are sending tribute to Nuka-World!

Shouldn't liberator or raider be a binary choice? When, where and how is it decided?

I think the decision is made when you kill Jammer. :)
Honestly though, I think its left open like that on purpose, so that the player has options rather than the mod taking away that option by default.

When can you make the decision to kill Jammer? He is unkillable in my game.

Fair enough. I think you have to kill Preston and gang to gain the ability to kill protected NPCs. I guess just ignore Jammer or avoid him all together by swinging wide around Concord.

Actually, if I remember right, you have to complete the Walden Pond quest for Jammer and, after, use rude dialogue options to make him aggro on you, then you can kill him. You don't actually have to kill the Quincy Survivors.

If this is true then cool, but if it’s not then we need a way other than killing Preston.

My character concept is that they come out of cold sleep and the clothing and attitude of the Raiders makes her think it was them based on the actions of child abductors. Infiltration and destruction from the inside was the plan, but the repugnance of plain old wonton killing and destruction save Preston and crew. Later after finding no trace of her son or anything to implicate the Raiders she decides to take them out as infection of the Commonwealth. She decides to unify the Commonwealth under the Minutemen after talks with Preston.

To do this Preston needs to live and Jammer will need to die. It would be nice if you could recruit Ophelia and the cook from the Raiders.

Right now, I use Jammer as an informant. He keeps telling me where these Raider gangs are hanging out, and I go in and eliminate them. Once that's done, I simply ignore Jammer as I continue to liberate more settlements as a MM.
