Ive had an issue where I cannot manage city plans when I click on the blueprint. Nothing happens at all. When I try to move or replace the desk it spawns with no terminal, chair or blueprints to speak of. Ive tried looking on here and the nexus page to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey there.

Which mod manager you are using? If you are using Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) then it might have misplaced some files.

If this is the case, then you could try manual installation of the mod, or moving to more up to date mod manager, like Vortex (currently in open alpha) or Mod Organizer 2.

Thanks for the info. I am using Nexus so it looks like I'll try just manual install. If that doesn't work I'll try and use another mod manager. Would this possibly effect my nmm files or can I just use the other one alongside nmm

I do not recommend mixing either Vortex or MO2 with NMM. Reason is that neither of them installs any files in to Data folder like NMM does. It would be a mix of virtually managed Data folder and physically managed Data folder.

Try the manual installation of the mod, for now. If you decide to swap over to another manager, then it is best to do that entirely.

Before you do any decisions, make sure that your NMM is actually up to date. Nexus does not post updates to manager anymore. Vortex is now in open beta and will replace NMM as official manager soon. Community updates are posted to NMM GitHub page.

Thank you I'll check if it needs an update I've been having issues with the mcm so this may be the cause as well. I appreciate all your help i hope I can finally get back into this amazing mod

I have had the excact same problem - After having played for a while and having Sanctuary and Ten Pines build up, I went to another settlement and tried putting down a desk.
Only the desk appeared with no plans or computer on it - after a while i decided to fast travel to Sanctuary and back to see if that would fix it - and i got a CTD. Reloading the save resulted in CTD after a set amount of time had passed - no matter what i did
Stay in spot for 4 mins - CTD
Travel somewhere - CTD

At this point i have around 36 hours played in this save game - So trying to fix it, i started disabling mods, and disabling Sim Settlements and letting the game run for 5 mins, and then re-enabling it solved it.

But now I cannot for the life of me get it to work again. All my settlements are broken.

After reinstalling Sim Settlements, and Switching to Vortex - which brougt a whole other set of problems - I am back to the original problem.

Tried starting a new game and had no problems putting down a desk - it only happens in my 36 hour save - sigh.

Any suggestions?

Hello, i had the same kind of problem, minus the bunch of crash. I'm copy pasting what i've posted in the bug section, i hope it will help you to fix your issue :

Try this, it worked for me

@devteam it would be nice to add this desk issue as a common signal to the info thread. I had this bug twice and i only realised this was a script issue the second time, after i failed to assign settler as described. I couldn't find anything when i was searching for a desk bug ( some unsolved post are talking about it, that's all)

This is what happened to me :

-City plan menu doesn't appear when you click on it
-Ressource drawer is broken (the animation plays but nothing happen)
-If the city planner's desk is moved or rebuilt, the computer and the city plan are missing
-Holotape seems entirely broken
-Settlers can't be assigned
-It starts with a single bugged settlement. Once visited it spread to every other settlements, old or new. If you don't go to the bugged settlement, you'll never know there is one

I hope this helped a bit. Thank you for this amazing mod, this is my second playthrough (the first was just after release, without any DLC and very few mods) and i can't imagine playing without it. The commonwealth feels alive now.

Hello I'm also experiencing the same issues described, but slightly worse. Existing City Planner Desks are broken and aren't functioning. When I build new desks in new settlements, the desk is there but it has no terminal or supply crate.

But then I noticed that everything Sim Settlements related is broken, when I make a new land plot it produces nothing just a blank outline of where the plot is supposed to be.

This started happening after the last update to F4SE and then the update to this mod. I've looked everywhere for advice, but people seem to be dismissing it as user error, when it may very well be the mod itself.

I use Vortex mod manager, and sort my plugins, as well as make bashed patches through Wyre Bash. I've also tried using the built in diagnostic/reset tools Sim Settlements provides with no effect.

I tried this - got to the step where i should save and remove the downloaded file. CTD every time i tried saving or loading another zone.
Tried going back 12 hours in my save to a point where i did not have the issue - got it again immediately.
I am now out of ideas.

-Did you try to debug another save? One where you're not in a settlement? In my case i've waited the 10 minutes in the middle of nowhere.
-In Falrim Tools, do you have sripts running in the "active scripts" file? Apparently this was an issue after a sim settlements maj, some time ago
-More important, if you're using a leader pack, are you using Sturges? Cause he is completly bugged before completing the main quest, dunno if there is a way to clean your save once he is placed at a desk.

You can also try this and hope there is someone to help you with the logs :

Now if it's a mod conflict, have fun disabling mods one by one :/

That's all i'll be able to do for you. I clearly don't know more than you, that's just the things i've found when i was looking for a solution. GL mate...
