Is there a way to skip Chapter 1 and begin Chapter 2?

Love SS2. But I really don't want to play through Ch.1 a 4th time. And the last 2 times I played I had issues with quests not working properly and used the holotape to complete them, which in turn made another bug happen. I ended up having 2 quests going at the same time. I.e. Well well well!! and Picking Up the Pieces. I know about the unlock everything cheat in the holotape but don't know if that will now include Ch.2 or not. If I have to go through the story again so be it. But really don't want to.

There's a "quest skip" option in the holotape's Cheats menu. Should be able to take you straight up to wherever you want; although if you're doing it on a fresh save you will want to be standing in a settlement you own when you use that. (since it auto-puts Paul and Lily into the settlement you're in at the time)

What would be the safest way to skip ahead and not cause quest problems? is there a specific quest I should skip to to ensure that nothing goes wrong?

Personally I wouldn't quest-skip any further ahead than "Who Can ASAM" - since you have to send that little group you meet at that point to a settlement too.

I use Mod Organizer 2. I played chapter 1 up to the next to last mission. Then made a copy of that game. This is the one I'm playing chapter 2 on now. Next time I want to play chapter 2 again I'll make a new copy of that first game.

I've used the quest skip straight to chapter 2 first quest. I was asked some questions about decisions like which settlement the Atoms were sent to, so best to have a cleared one ready. It takes a while and not all the intermediate quests will pop up a 'starting...completed' notification. You might not see the notification that your chosen quest has started so check your pip boy. To start chapter 2 you have to choose the first quest after selecting chapter 2 in the cheats tool.
When the HQ went wrong I started a new game and skipped straight to that, I got questions about who I allied with in earlier chapter 2 quests and now I'm doing the story form there
