Institute Phase 4 Plan: Institute City Plan Project Plan Thread.

*sigh* it seems this has flopped. Is no one seriously interested in building any sort of institute city plans? Besides me, who isn't very good at building cities at all?

It is interesting to me but I got ton of WIP stuff on the go. I suspect many of the authors around have started making huge plans for projects due to Conqueror

My biggest problem is that I'm... not very good at building realistic looking cities. not very good at decorating, I tend to over-efficientize, I don't put much thought into decorating (I never use greebles or whatnot), and I don't really tend to get overly creative with them (last time I did institute building, they all ended up just being giant acology cubes instead of anything actually interesting. Then again that was way back before I fully embraced simsettlements.

Plus I can never really think in phases. Whenever I hand craft a simsettlements city, what I tend to build is the final version, then I just throw the switch and wait.

Okay, so here is the list so far:
SOE
Immserive Teleportation (basically takes the place of IKEA, since provisioners are for surface-factions.)
Advanced Turrets/advanced bubble turrets (see notes). In particular, the "Institute Laser", "EMP" and "Tesla" turrets.
AS Craftable Institute Stations (optional)
Workshop Rearranged (redundant with project blueprint? I don't use PB, as I can never get it to work for more than 5 minutes before it hides itself)

Notes: I'm leaning towards just making it Advanced Turrets even though the Bubble turrets would look more "institute". For one single reason:
The Wall and Ceiling turrets simply don't work correctly. Their guns are completely backwards. And even the floor ones sometimes mess up. The regular "workshop turret" ones, though they look unfitting, work correctly.

Also, if anyone wants any good examples of institute settlement builds, have a look at these:

These aren't sim-settlements compatible, let alone plans, sadly. However, they do give you a good idea of what an institute settlement looks like: clean, for the most part contained outside of a few courtyards, defended by turrets rather than guard posts. Almost all of them are built upon their own flat terrain rather than using the vanilla terrain. Although a few of them build around existing structures (would be interesting to see how some of you do that), for the most part they just get rid of them (in particular the Red Rocket builds, those tend to nix the red rocket entirely).

Okay so dredging this idea from the grave, perhaps something that could be done is this:

We could post "finished" L3 transfer settlement blueprints here, for everyone to improve, and then when they're "ready", someone could create Level 0-2 versions of them.
