How I would like to see fallout in the future.

Cars, tanks, motorcycles and boats being repairable and restorable to original condition or add technology never intended like making robots. Over 200 years have transpired since the bombs dropped, much knowledge was lost. You wonder what happened to all the craftsmen, engineers, and scientist ? Almost everyone was at work when the bombs fell and they were either vaporized or died of after effects in the following months. The exceptions are of course the Institute, gouls and the Brotherhood of Steel. One desires to withhold technology for total control and the other wishes to confiscate all technology for themselves. So how can knowledge be restored to the people? Since Fallout 3, New Vegas and Fallout 4 a device that exist in all of them, training pods that interface with the mind will be the answer.

Imagine finding either functional or non functional ones in various locations in vaults of buildings requiring quest to get them functional again. Training not only yourself but settlers as well. Imagine training settlers tp dp specific jobs in a vault or settlement !! Locating training modules and parts needed to restore them would be awesome. Once trained you would have a better understanding of the vehicles or items and be able to either create the needed components or salvage the parts as needed, of course with further skill enhancement gaining the ability to improve the vehicles or items even more, perhaps even full restoration. Perhaps even to eventually build or transport training/VR pods to settlements. It would be great to have a vehicle to haul not only yourself and companions but items as well.

Of course lets not forget the robots and synths also possibly becoming sentient vehicles as well. Possibly guarding your salvaged loot or attacking you depending on their allegiance. Cyborgs could be another possibility. My goodness it would be like Mad Max on steroids.

Imagine being able to eventually fully create and restore buildings to pristine condition. No more trashed ruins in settlements. As your knowledge increases the items, buildings, vehicles build menus also changes to reflect the advancements.

Another thing is vault armories as well as a garage with vehicles that have deteriorated over the years or perhaps even a rare pristine cache of vehicles or items. Imagine unlocking or opening access to a limited cache of starting weapons, armor or vehicles when you start the game.

Another idea would be settlement boundaries that expand with the the settlement and number of settlers. If a settlement failed to have enough defense it could be overrun, buildings destroyed and the settlers either killed, enslaved, or abducted for ransom or food depending on who the attacking forces were. Of course you should be able to create alliances with groups, peace treaties, temporary truce, treason from within if you do a poor job of leadership. War and peace with all the opportunities and disadvantages.
