I assume Jake's from Sanford Florida? I live just down the road from Sanford, and I like that... I know like 99.99% of you don't care but It makes me happy for some reason.

Sorry, it's the Sanford near to Lake Meredith in Texas! I hope I didn't steal away your happiness...

He made it all the way to Boston from Texas? That trip must not be as hard as I thought, one of the "special settlers" mentions a couple plot points from New Vegas as though they were there too (which is ~6 years ago in-universe) ... isnt Texas at least partly Legion territory, at least when NV took place?

Jake mentions cyclones. Sanford, Texas is too far inland to get those. Tornaodes maybe (if Sanford, Texas is in Tornado Alley).

Cyclones is a general meteorological term. It can be applied to weather patters that eventually turn into tornadoes or hurricanes.
As someone who grew up in tornado alley, cyclones is a term that can be used interchangeably with tornadoes.
Based on Jake's accent, mannerisms and the talk of learning to nail things down I assumed he was from somewhere in the midwest.

If there were horses in the game I bet you Jake would have ridden in on one. (Maybe he needs a suit of the horse power armor in the next chapter)

This is all taking to account that the weather system we know now are the same after a worldwide nuclear war. This aside it is cool when a cool character is relivent to you, hope you are enjoying the quests and the mods.

At least he’s not one of the heathens up at Buford Abbey.

That explains a lot. I lived in Austin,TX for 5 or so years. I thought Jake's accent was more SE or SW southern. It definitely wasn't a central Texas drawl. If he's from the pan-handle, it makes more sense.

My favorite from Austin was asking directions and get, "Well, go down yonder a piece. 'bout 6 red lights and take a right." Sure enough, all 6 lights were red....

I feel that way about Swan's Lake and Cambridge. I spent a couple of months in Boston with a son at the Brookline Ronald McDonald House and took the train to the Harvard cyclotron for his treatments (he's fine and 40 yrs old). Swan's Lake, of course, is much bigger in real life, but it still makes me happy to see it. In spite of why we were, there were some good times.

Should send all of you back to geography class, I think almost every state has a Sanford. :P
