Question How to start SS1?

I'm new to mods and I could use some help with what mods I need to download (and if load order matters) in order to start SS1. I want to go through it and begin SS2.

Should I even bother with SS1, or would it be better to go straight into SS2?

SS2 is way bigger and more involving than 1, but whichever you decide it's best to stick with it for that game playthrough.

As I understand it, the game does not like mods being changed around partway though.

SS1 does not really have a quest or storyline to speak of - just a few quests (most of which are included in SS2), so when you say you want to "go through it" I don't know that there is anything to really go through.
