How to know which building materials are needed?

When you activate the ASAM it should say upgrade available or something like that, when you select that it will show you what you need.
That's the thing, the heads up displays say they need materials but when I check with ASAM they're not ready to upgrade, no option to. That's why I wanted to ask.
BTW some of the buildings lost that icon when I refreshed the plot, I guess it may have been a temporary glitch.

So to sum it up, that Icon only appears when an upgrade is available and not enough resources right?
If that so, then yes when you manually upgrade you can see the needed items.

It will also appear if you are playing in hardcore mode with maintenance costs on and you do not have enough resources to cover maintenance costs. That lets you know the building isn't operating because its costs are not being met.

Hey ty so much for the input... I believe I may be using that as well... In that case, how do I know which maintenance cost resource is missing?

By checking the ASAM - there will be an option to pay maintenance costs (either out of workbench or inventory) and it will then tell you what the costs are before you go through with paying them.
